"Wangji, Wei Wuxian please follow me"

Wei Wuxian's POV:

Lan Zhan and I trailed behind him. We had been walking for a while, when I found that we reached Jiangnan. I looked at Lan Zhan for a second and ended up not being able to look away. When I turned back to Huan-ge to ask him why we were there, he was gone.

"O-oh, Huang-ge..." Lan Zhan tensed a little as he still wasn't used to me calling him that.

"Why did brother bring Wei Ying and me here and leave us alone?"

"I don't know Lan Zhan" But I thought 'Sneaky. You did this on purpose.'

Lan Zhan started walking over the bridge. Hm? "Lan Zhan! Wait for me Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan!" He stopped. Then he turned towards me. "Mhm?" I thought for a little while on what I should ask him. He was silent while I was thinking but then interrupted me with the question I didn't want to ask.

"What is Wei Ying's opinion?"

"Um... On what?" I pretended not to know what he was talking about.

"The marriage."

I got flustered. Did he really just ask this? Here? In public? I mean... they don't know what he's talking about but still. Really? Ummm. But what do I say? People are giving weird stares. Am I making weird faces?

"Wei Ying?" Oh Lan Zhan. I forgot about him....

"Yes?" He looked concerned, sad and a bit upset. "What's wrong?"

"Why does Wei Ying take so long to answer?" Maybe it was just me but it seems like he had a pouty baby-ish voice.

"Ah, Lan Zhan, I was just thinking for long." I answered smiling.

He looked at me for a while as if he was thinking then looked away saying, "If Wei Ying does not want to it is not mandatory, though advised."

"No, no, no, no I do, really but..."

"..."

"But, Lan Qiren would hate me for ruining his nephew's image."

...... He didn't respond.

"You wouldn't do anything to go against your uncle."

"Mn, for Wei Ying yes." We locked eyes for what seemed like eternity when finally I smiled and said, "Yeah Lan Zhan, I'd like that."

So we continued walking on the bridge arm in arm chatting away. It was actually mostly me though... heh- We were walking and talking for a really long time until I saw that we had reached the entrance to Gusu.

"Oh, how did we get back here so fast?" Lan Zhan looked at me. He didn't respond. Why is he staring at me?

"L-Lan Zhan, let's just go inside ok?

When we entered we saw Huan-ge.

"Huan-ge, why did you leave us alone!?" He looked at me with a guilty smile. Class had just ended, so there were several more shocked Lan disciples who did not already know. (Gossip is forbidden)

"I truly am sorry, but I had a matter to be dealt with with Jiang Wanyin" He replied, still with a smile. 'No, you just wanted an excuse to talk to him didn't you.'

"Huan-ge, are you sure that you-"

"Have you planned the proposal yet, might I get the date?" Huan-ge interrupted. I looked at him skeptically before answering, "No, but we established that we're going to get married." He frowned at me before saying "Oh, well do tell me when you do." Everyone was staring at us confused as to who we were talking about and Lan Zhan and I went back to the Jingshi and Huan-ge went the other way.

As soon as we were left alone Lan Zhan said, without hesitation,

"Wei Ying."

"Yes Lan Z-"

"I love you." He was smiling at me. He really is cute though...

"I love you too Lan Zhan."

"Wei Ying?"

"Uh-huh?" (It's yes)

"Since you already call brother 'ge'... Can I call Wei Ying 'Lan Ying'?"

"..."

"You're going to be a Lan, right?"

"..." I didn't know what to say. I was happy, but in shock.

"Y-yeah Lan Zhan, it's just that's gonna take some getting used to." I say walking away Lan Zhan trailing behind me.

I walked up to the tree I overheard those two Lans talking about the HanaHaki disease and said, "To think it started with this."

"It's starting to get late, goodbye Lan Zhan... Love you."

"Goodnight Lan Ying. I love you too."

Going back to my hole to draw goodbye.
