Chapter 25: 𝓛𝓮𝓽 𝓜𝓮 𝓘𝓷Tuesday, July 5th
Cory tried to script what he wanted to say in his head. He knew that her books were a personal subject. She would change the subject every time he would ask.
Cory Walker:
Sent 6:00amHey.
Do you mind if I read your books?
I know this is a private thing for you, but I just want you to let me in.
Gracie had actually been giving it a lot of thought. She'd been more open about her works lately. Would it really be bad if she sent him the link to her profile?
Gracie Summers:
Sent 6:02amSure!

Cory was not expecting that answer. He figured he'd give it a try, but he expected her to brush it off and move on like always. Without asking questions, he clicked on the link and was greeted by—
Well, first, a blank black page.

Her profile popped up.
He started reading the first book he saw:
There's Only You.
It only took him over an hour to finish reading it. It had him laughing, sitting at the edge of his seat and angry at the antagonist. Maybe he felt a tear form in his eyes, but quickly wiped it away.
Cory thought she was the most amazing writer. The descriptions Gracie used made it feel like you were there inside the stories. You felt what the characters felt and you saw what the characters saw.
He was addicted.
