22. Head on the pillow

Kai sat in the car as Rosalie raced through the streets behind Bella and Edward

"What about Charlie?" Kai speaks making Rosalie snap her head towards him

"Not the time" she growled her knuckles white on the steering wheel

"Rosalie, he's my father if something-if something happens to him..."

"It will be by fault" Rosalie cuts him off
"This is exactly why we shouldn't have got together. I knew the risk." she shook her head

"Rosalie, stop this" he snapped "Stop blaming yourself because i'm not blaming you"

"You should be"

"Rosalie, i love you and i don't give a crap what you think, if you believe loving me was a mistake it's okay but i will never regret the way you make me feel."

"You love me?" Rosalies hold on steering wheel loosened

"More than life itself" he smiles at her

"I love you too, and i will never regret loving you" he blushes

Rosalie phone rings

"What?" she asks

"We're going back to Charlie" Edwards voice filled the car

"What!" she growled

Kai reached out his hand and took the vampires hand in his own making her calm a little

"We have a plan" Edward said and went on to explain it.

Rosalies car pulled up to Charlie's house. The two step out of the car quickly. Kai places a kiss onto Rosalies head nodding at her before following his sister who stormed into the house slamming the door in Edwards face.

"What's going on?" Charlie asks rubbing his eyes

"They broke up" Kai answers going to his room and closing the door listening as his twin and father talked. He closed his eyes shoving things in his bag
He felt a cold hand on his shoulder. Kai opened his eyes and smiles weakly at Rosalie

"I hate this" he mumbles

Rosalie nods "I know" she helps him finish pack promising to meet him in the car.

Kai walks downstairs with his bag slung over his shoulder. Charlie and Bella were talking and Kai heard as Bella told Charlie in which broke his hard twice now.

"Dad" Kai says making the sad man look at him "I'm gonna go with her, make sure she's okay" Charlie nods

Kai hugs his father "Stay safe"

Kai nods and leaves after Bella. He climbs into the car and grabs his twins hand squeezing it as she cried

"He's not going to forgive me" she cried

"He will" Kai assured her giving her a small smile "Dad will forgive you"

A sound is heard and Edward gets in the car taking over for Bella. Kai pulls Bella toward him and lets her cry.

A loud bang is heard and the twins turn heir heads in fright

"It's Emmett" Edward says "Alice and Rosalie are in the car behind" Kai nods

"Did it work?" Kai asks

"It did. He heard the whole thing and is currently following us" Edward says making Kai pulls Bella tighter to himself

If it came to it Kai knew he would do anything to save his sister, even if that meant he had to sacrifice his own life. Bella meant more to him than anything, he just wished he'd get the chance to say goodbye to Rosalie first if something happens

Edward glances at Kai and gives him a nod and Kai smiles at the boy.

The car pulls up in the Cullens driveway. Rosalie is immediately at Kai's side. The vampire/human couples all walk towards the house when they see the dark skinned male. Edward lunged forward but Carlisle stopped him

"He's here to warn us" the blonde doctor says

"This is not my fight. I've grown tired of James games." he explains "For all my life i've never seen anything like James. But don't underestimate the woman, Victoria."

They nod and Laurent shared a few words with Carlisle before leaving.

Kai and Rosalie enter the garage and Rosalie sits in a table pulling Kai to stand between her legs with her chin on his shoulder.

"I've had to fight our kind before, we're not easy to kill." Jasper tells his family

"It's not impossible, i'll tear them to pieces. Then burn them ashes to ashes," Emmett says

"I don't relish the thought of killing another creature, even a sadistic one like James." Carlisle says as he grabs things from the cupboards

"What if he kills one of us first?" Bailey ask but gets ignored

"Myself and Rosalie are gonna run Bella and Kai south" Edward say s

"No, Edward. James knows you would never leave Bella. He will follow you." Carlisle tells him

"I'll go with Bella and Kai." Alice speaks as she walks toward the pair "Jasper and i will drive them south. We'll keep her safe Edward" she promise, Rosalie glares at Alice not liking the thought of being separated

"Can you keep your thoughts to yourself?" Edward gives her a look to which she nods.

Kai turns around and holds Rosalie in his arms

"Come back to me" he whispers

"I should he telling you that" she frowns he kisses her frown away making her smile sadly

"I love you" he kisses her again

"I love you too" she says

"Kai, come on" Alice says making the boy frown and kiss Rosalie head before following the pixie vampire.
