I am not so good at hiding just like the difference between Sano and Giyuu. Even Giyuu and Shinobu's flashbacks. I think it is obvious that Giyuu is the one who saved her from the dog and from the demon.
By the way, I was inspired by the doujinshi I read about their childhood encounter so I decided to write it down and change it a bit.
