Xia Yuan, the older brother of the female character with reduced wisdom played the piano well, had a good temper, and had the manners and appearance of an artist since his teenage years. Now that Xia Yao was calmly looking at the dark expression of the young man standing at the door, she suddenly felt that out of all these people described as artists, nine out of ten were simply acting like pretentious pricks and this brother of hers was one of those.
Ah, the genius musician who could have gone abroad and earned awards had chosen to stay in the country because of the abnormal love he had for his fake sister and ran home every day to see her... Xia Yao looked down on her brother a bit now; what deformed love had the fragrance of studying?

Xia Yuan's gaze naturally bypassed her and as soon as he found the fair Xia Xi behind her, he was shocked. The girl in the white princess dress had red cheeks and looked a little uncomfortable.
"Xia Yao, did you bully Xiao Xi again?" He asked right away.
Ah, look at him. Two sisters but one with a pet name and the other coldly addressed. The double standard was really obvious at one glance.
A year ago, his long-lost sister had returned home and he liked her very much. But it had only lasted a little while and he had soon lost patience; he didn't want a sister who was stupid and vicious! She was the second from the last in her grade and was always mixing with delinquents.
"No, brother. Sister didn't do anything to me, don't blame her." Xia Xi quickly stood up and walked to Xia Yuan in a coquettish manner, "Brother, did you bring me a little cake today?"
Xia Yao's eyes narrowed. Sure enough, those two were such a good pair of brother and sister, and she was the superfluous one; she wished them a long life together in advance.
What followed was the daily heart-warming and dog food of the heroine and one of her licking dogs. Pink bubbles were all around them and couldn't be popped at will.
After Xia Yuan gave the pastry to Xia Xi, he never took a second look at his biological sister and Xia Yao didn't bother with them either, going straight out to get her takeaway.

Ji Huai glanced at the intimate interaction between the two siblings, of Xia Yuan caressing Xia Xi's hair and holding her in his arms as she acted like a baby, and he couldn't help but frown.

When Xia Yao came back with her Mala Tang, the three of them were already sitting on the couch in the living room. Obviously, the conversation must have been good and the smile on the heroine's lips was about to reach her ears.
Smelling the scent of food, Xia Yuan looked at the hallway and his brows twisted; his sister ate this kind of garbage that had no nutrition.
"Xia Yao, come here." He ordered in a commanding tone.
Xia Yao really wanted to ignore him but she had to bow her head for now. Her parents were abroad and the family was currently under Xia Yuan's thumb.

She carried her Mala Tang, changed into slippers and sat on the couch. She put her food on the table with a bang and crossed her legs to sit comfortably. It didn't matter whether her character was the vicious female or not; after witnessing the abnormal love of Xia Yuan towards the heroine, his young artist's aura had entirely shattered in her mind and she didn't want to play the role of a sister in front of him anymore.

In the original novel, her character had wanted to have a family relationship as beautiful as the female lead and she had learned to act as spoiled in front of them, just like Xia Xi. What she hadn't known had been that Xia Yuan had long made up his mind under the instigation of the heroine and to him, the most disgusting thing about his biological sister had been her contrived expression.

Xia Yuan frowned when he looked at her crossed legs. His eyes moved to the Mala Tang on the table and with the look of an elder teaching the younger generation, he said:
"What are you eating? Our family doesn't lack money, why do you always order these disgusting and innutritious things?"
Why do you care if my food is healthy or not? Xia Yao couldn't help but think that but didn't dare to say it aloud.
"Oh." Her tone was surprisingly calm, "Then why don't you hire a housekeeper if we have money at home?"
"Sister, don't say that. You don't know about the theft in the past..." Xia Xi hastened to relax the tense atmosphere, "Besides, aren't the three of us at home? Brother and I will take care of you."
Actually, only the two of you at home would be better! Xia Yao raised her eyebrows and glanced at the weak heroine silently.

After being cajoled by Xia Xi, Xia Yuan didn't feel so annoyed anymore and he rubbed her head before turning to his guest: "Ji Huai, this is my other sister Xia Yao. Her temper is a bit bad, I apologize."
According to the description of the novel, Ji Huai had a pair of affectionate eyes that looked like he was always smiling even if he weren't. His eyes were the kind that as long as people looked at them, they would instinctively believe he liked them.
Xia Yao had not paid attention to him when she had bumped into him earlier this afternoon. After all, she had been fully devoted to her public services activities with her friends. But now that he was here, she looked at him and had to agree that his eyes were really beautiful and made her want to—
Gouge them out. This way, he wouldn't harm little girls.

Ji Huai recognized Xia Yao and sat more upright. His father and Xia Yao's father had been good friends for many years; his father mainly engaged in real estate development while Xia Yao's was more inclined towards planning and design. And because of that, Xia Yao and he had been childhood playmates and if it hadn't been for her disappearance, they could have been regarded as childhood sweethearts.
"Xia Yao, do you remember me?" Ji Huai looked at the girl, who was unable to explain where the glimmer of expectation in his eyes came from. Had it been before her awakening, Xia Yao would have thought he was talking about this afternoon, but now that she knew about the plot, she guessed he was talking about them playing together when they were younger.
"Ji Huai." Xia Yao glanced at him lightly, "Brother just said your name."
Her face was indifferent like they were meeting for the first time. On the other hand, Xia Xi frowned and a big question mark was almost visible above her head. She suddenly asked: "Brother Ji Huai, do you know Xia Yao?"
Look at the heroine, already calling one of her male leads "brother" the first time they met!
"Well, we played together when we were young."
He still remembered playing house with her, where she had been following him around and asked him to marry her.
Xia Yao was thinking about her unfinished math problems upstairs and was ready to leave this scene.
"Oh, so it turned out to be like this." Xia Xi sounded a little disappointed. She smiled again and added, "Brother Ji Huai, sister is usually well-behaved, this incident this afternoon was just a misunderstanding."
"What happened?" Xia Yuan interjected right away.
Here it came, the brother's daily care had finally come. Xia Yao glanced at her food on the table, not intending to speak any longer with these people. As long as she remained silent, this situation would end and she would be able to go back to her studies.
"It was just a fight... Ah no, it was nothing, just a little conflict between classmates."
Xia Yuan's eyes were full of inquiry and he glanced at Xia Yao who was already stretching out her hand toward her Mala Tang. To end the topic faster, she followed Xia Xi's words: "Sister is right, just a little contradiction. If I hadn't met her later, I wouldn't have known what to do."
[Ding! The time has come, please leave the scene immediately. Today's plot has ended, you can now rest for more adventures tomorrow!]
Xia Yao finally heard the sound of getting off work.

Xia Yuan's frown deepened. He already knew what kind of person his sister was. Her academic performances were so bad she was the last in school and she followed a group of gangsters to bully her fellow classmates every day. But he had his pride and didn't want Ji Huai to know he had such an idiot sister.
As he was about to say something, Xia Yao's calm voice sounded:
"Ji Huai was also there this afternoon. Brother, if you want to know the details, why don't you ask him?" She picked up her food with one hand, "I'm hungry, so I will leave first, have fun."
She had already too many scenes and drama according to the plot, there was no point in adding more. She was also really starving, not only for her stomach but also for her brain, which was waiting for her math problems to be finished. Rather than acting and pretending like Xia Xi all day to please men, wasn't it better to spend more time reading and studying?
