"Eenie,m-meenie, miney m-mo!" I shout as I pick out a pair of fluffy socks out of my drawer.
I put on the polka dot socks and stand up from off the floor, wriggling my toes.
It was Sunday morning, the birds were chirping and the sun sat shyly behind the clouds.
Spring is soon hehe.
I lay on my bed and start reading a book I bought a couple days ago that I haven't had chance to start reading yet.
Within the space of maybe 20 minutes I got impatient and put the book down.
Reading is obviously not my thing.
A minute or so later, I build up the courage to go downstairs and speak to my brother. I haven't spoken to him since Friday morning and I want to settle things between us both.
I know he disagrees with me building a relationship with our dad and I understand that yet I think we should talk about it.
I head into the kitchen and he is sat on the island with a cup of coffee in his hand.
I awkwardly sit opposite and he slowly looks up from his phone to look at me before nonchalantly looking back at his phone.
Ouch-ok.
"I'm s-sorry Aster" I say quietly, tapping my fingers on the counter. He finally puts his phone to the side and looks at me.
"What are you apologising for?" He says looking genuinely confused.
"Well y-you know f-for upsetting y-you" I reply. His eyebrows scrunch together before he sighs.
"I don't like you being around dad. I've tried my best to give you a better life after what he did to you-to us and I just don't want the past to reoccur again. I couldn't forgive myself if-if"
I quickly jump up off my stool and walk around the counter to give him a hug. Now I understand how he feels and I understand why he's so upset.
He's gotten me away from that pain of the past and has given me a great life, of course he's going to be cautious of him coming back into my life.
"I understand b-bubs, I'm sorry I d-didn't put your feeling I-into consideration. I p-promise though t-that if h-he does anything that m-makes me uncertain I w-will tell you s-straight away" I say honestly.
He smiles and nods and kisses my forehead. I sit back in my seat and smile knowing that my brother and I are speaking again.
"Do you want to do something fun today?" My brother asks. "Sure" I smile and grin.
"Is it okay if Janie comes with us too?" He asks to which I agree with. I haven't spoken to that wonderful lady in what feels like ages.
I rush upstairs to get myself ready. Starting with a shower, then my hair and simple makeup.
After looking through my closet, I find some baggy denim jeans and a lime green corset shirt. I add my air forces and a rose gold necklace.
