The car ride home seemed so long. Sugawara sat in the drivers seat, gripping the steering wheel right and keeping his eyes trained on the road ahead. It took everything in his power to keep focus on driving. His mind kept wandering off to the girl that had sat beside him not so long ago. She never changed her number.

As he watched her disappear through the hotel doors, his fake smile vanished and changed into a look of complete shock and dismay. She never changed her number. If he had known that maybe even a year after they had broken up, would things be different? Would Sugawara have the courage to get back in touch all those years ago, or would they be in the exact same situation they are now? Sugawara couldn't stop thinking about it, so much so he had to sit parked by the hotel for a while, trying to gather some sort of composure back. He probably looked like a creep just sitting there. He hoped [y/n] didn't have a window facing the front of the hotel, one where she could see him and his shitty car.

What if she kept his contact too? Hoping he'd get back in touch. Had she texted his old number after he changed it? The thoughts wouldn't stop. Oh god, did she think he deleted her number off his phone? He hadn't. Even if he wanted to he couldn't find the courage to do it.

All the memories of him trying in the past were so clear in his mind, staring at the screen, the delete contact button at the bottom of the screen in a bold red colour, his finger hovering over it but never moving to tap it. Instead, he just go back up to the top of the contact and look at the picture he had set for [y/n]. A picture of her sitting across from him at some restaurant. She wasn't really paying attention in the photo and she had pasta sauce on her chin. Sugawara thought she looked beautiful anyways and he remembered taking it like it was yesterday. That memory had made it so hard to deleted her contact because then, he really was letting a whole part of his life go and that made him sad. Heartbroken all over again.

As he parked in the car park of his apartment building. He made his why up the stairs and through the door in a daze. Even missing the lock while he tried to put his key in a couple times. This whole [y/n] business was not good for him. He had only been aware of her being back for less than a day and she already became the bane of his existence, in the best and worst way possible. Was he still in love with this girl? As great as she was, he hoped not. It wasn't fair for either of them.

His body was slumped on the couch, letting these thoughts spin around in his head like a carousel until the buzz of his phone caught his attention. Lazily, he stretched an arm to grab the phone form the coffee table and glanced at the new message on his Home Screen.

Makoto
Ami wants to bring some ppl over for drinks and stuff to celebrate [y/n] being back for a few weeks.

i would really like it if you came.

As he was reading another message came through.

Makoto
[y/n] will be there obvi

and i still would really, REALLY like it if you made an appearance x

Sugawara sighed. Of course he'd be there. A certain [h/c] girl couldn't keep him away now.

Sugawara
