Years after they're first meeting in high school, Sugawara finds himself being dragged into a bar to see a familiar face.
Maybe he hasn't gotten over his high school girlfriend as well as he thought.

When Sugawara first walked through the door, he spotted [y/n] standing in the corner, by herself. Her back resting against the wall with a somber expression and hand lazily holding a glass that her fingers barely held on to. He thought if she were to move even just one finger the glass would fall and shatter on the floor and stain the white carpet.
Sugawara couldn't help but notice that she was drinking a purpleish liquid, what he assumed was cider, while everyone else was drinking wine and beers. It wasn't an meaningful observation. He just remembered she hated any alcohol other than the cheep fruity stuff. Sugawara liked that he knew this. He wondered if Masahi knew that about her. That fact that she hasn't changed her preferences on alcohol made Sugawara think he still had some sort of connection to her. Maybe she wasn't so different.
But then again, this was a whole train of thoughts over one glass of cider.
Sugawara felt self conscious once he realised he has been standing by the door way for so long just staring off into space. He also felt a little awkward that Makoto hasn't noticed him until now.
"Suga, I'm glad you showed your face," she grinned, stolling over with her arms out. If Sugawara didn't want a hug, he was getting one anyways. He could tell she was already drunk. Red wine was never kind to her.
"Let me get you a beer," she pulled away from the hug, patting his shoulder and already walking to the kitchen without hearing Sugawara say a word. He followed without much care, smiling a few people that caught his eye as he passed with his hands deep in his jeans pockets.
"Here," Makoto held out an freshly opened bottle in front of his face. Hesitatingly, he took it, the sudden bottle in his face catching him off guard. "Thanks." "No worries," she said but quickly lowered her voice and changed the conversation. "I think you should talk to [y/n]," she smirked. "Really?" He said in a low voice as well as sarcastic. Makoto nodded, too drunk to acknowledge or car for sarcasm at this point. "Would you like to know what I think?" He asked. Makoto said nothing and waited for him to continue. "I think you should stop playing match maker with your friends," he narrowed his eyes and smiled, even he couldn't tell if this was still a joke or if he was actually being serious, neither could drunk Makoto.
"You always assume the worse of me, Sugawara," she sighed, "maybe I'm just trying to get my two best friends to reconnect. Maybe I just want us all to hang out together without any toxicity," she shrugged and wandering off. She clearly didn't want to explain herself further but she kept nodding her head over at [y/n] as she walked away. Sugawara sighed. He did want to talk to [y/n] and he was going to either way but it sucked that it looked like Makoto told him to and he follows her orders like a dog.
