Years after they're first meeting in high school, Sugawara finds himself being dragged into a bar to see a familiar face.
Maybe he hasn't gotten over his high school girlfriend as well as he thought.

❝I didn't sleep with him if that's why you're acting like that❞

[y/n] tiptoed through the long, empty halls of the hotel, bare foot with heels in hand. Her feet felt sore on the rough, old carpet. Though, she was grateful for it as it thankfully muffled her steps so there was less of a chance of Axel or anyone else hearing her come back to her hotel room. She let out a sigh of relief once she reached the door. The only person that needed to know she was here now was the man that most likely had her key card for her room.
"[y/n]," a stern voice spoke, the door opening before her hand even so much as grazed the handle. [y/n] cringed at the sound. How did he even hear her? Did he have superpowers or something?
Masahi was leaning against the now open door, arms crossed and a veryunhappylook on his face. [y/n] cringed, she felt like a teenager being caught by her parent after sneaking out. "Masahi," She uttered, nervously, Masahi's face stayed stern.
"You scared the shit out of me," he said, plainly. As she looked closer at his face, she noticed the dark circles below his eyes. He hadn't slept and that made [y/n] feel awful.
"I'm sorry," she breathed out, playing with the straps of her heal, keeping her eyes on the them rather than the man before her. Masahi let out a deep sigh. "Here," he said, holding out [y/n]'s bag, the one she had left in his car the night before. Hesitantly, she took it, mumbling a small thank you. "I called you about seventeen times before realising you left your stuff in my car," he explained as [y/n] took her phone out from the bag. A notification of 18 missed calls from Masahi was at the top of her notifications, along with almost forty missed calls from Makoto and Ami combined.
"I called Makoto too and then she said this Sugawara guy had got into contact with her saying that you were with him," Masahi continued, the suspicion in his voice was so heavy it made [y/n] tense up. "Before you ask, he's an old friend," [y/n] sighed, keeping her eyes locked on the wall parallel to her. "I wasn't going to ask," Masahi replied bluntly. [y/n] narrowed her eyes and scowled at the man. "I didn't sleep with him if that's why you're acting like that," she snapped. She really didn't know why Masahi's tone made her so angry. "I don't care what you do, [y/n], it doesn't matter to me anymore," Masahi said in a defeated tone.
He paused for a second to swipe a hand across his face. "Lets just move on from this okay? I shouldn't have let you out of the car in the first place and I'm sorry. I'll make sure Axel apologises to you as well." [y/n] felt her anger dwindle from her body, going back to just feeling guilty. "Okay, I'm sorry for snapping at you," she said, "and for storming out of the car too, I'll do better to control my anger next time." Masahi pressed his lips into a thin line. "It's fine, [y/n], I know what you're like anyways," he said. [y/n] felt a pain in her chest when he said that.
"I'm just glad your safe," he said, walking over and pulling her into a hug. Reluctantly, [y/n] returned it, wrapping her arms around him.
"Makoto invited us all out tomorrow for drinks and stuff, by the way," Masahi said as he pulled away, his tone changed back to his regular one, "you're coming aren't you?" "Of course," [y/n] said. "Good stuff," he replied, smiling. There was still a lingering tension in the air.
