Bdubs

Bdubs almost slept through the start of their quest. Luckily, or maybe unluckily, Gem woke him up, made him change, and dragged him, his backpack, and his sword out the door while carrying her own things as well.

Bdubs decided never to underestimate her again.

When they got to the top of Half-Blood hill, they found Zedaph and Tango already there, waiting for them. Zedaph looked as alert as ever. Tango seemed tired.

"Out of curiosity, did Bdubs actually fall asleep?" Zedaph asked once they were close enough.

"Yep!" Gem said.

The two redstoners laughed.

Bdubs glanced back over his shoulder at the camp. I'll be back, he thought.

And hopefully once I get back I'll be claimed. That would be nice.

Then it turned into an ordinary strawberry farm as they passed the pine tree, and Bdubs looked away.

He half expected monsters to jump out at them, but nothing came. Maybe they were all after Percy, Annabeth, and Grover.

Or maybe they were after Ren and Grian.

Nope. No. Definitely not. Bdubs refused to think about that. They were not dead. His business rivals were most certainly not dead.

Zedaph looked at a map. Where had he gotten it from? "Okay. So we're right here, on this island. I think."

"You're holding it upside-down," Tango observed.

Zedaph blushed in the moonlight and turned it around so the N on the compass was turned up. "I'm still not used to these cardinal directions," he said.

"A cardinal is a bird, though," Gem said, her tone confused.

"Anyway," Zedaph said, ignoring her. "Where would they have gone if they had run away? I think we should search that direction first."

"That way," Tango said, pointing in the direction that the map marked West.

"Why?" Gem asked.

"I don't know," Tango said, shrugging.

"Sounds perfect," Bdubs said. Just like him.

They went west, realized it was south, and then actually went west.

Zedaph put the map in his pocket. It wasn't very good.

They were already almost a mile from camp when they realized they had no plan.

Tango, Gem, and Bdubs shrugged and kept walking, but Zedaph stressed over it constantly. It got kind of annoying, until-

"Wait," Gem said, stopping. The three boys did as well, looking at her with confused expressions.

She ran forward and picked something off of the ground - a sword.

A Celestial Bronze sword.

"That's Grian's," Zedaph realized.

"I know," Gem said. "They were here."

The Hermits looked around as if they could just jump out of an alley, yell, "BOO!" and then laugh as they realized the scare they had given the other four Hermits.

Times when they could do that were much simpler.

Gem passed the sword to Zedaph, who examined it. "This shows they were here. We might be going in the right direction. But we don't know if they're okay, or a monster has them, or they're..." He trailed off.

"They're fine," Bdubs said.

"Grian wouldn't have left his sword here if he was fine," Tango argued.

Zedaph looked west. "Let's keep going the way we were," he said. "Just so we sort of know what we're doing. Hopefully we can find more clues there."

He didn't seem to know what to do with the sword.

"I'll carry it," Bdubs offered. "I brought his scabbard."

Zedaph looked at him in wonder. "I'm very surprised you know that word."

Bdubs crossed his arms. "I'm shreepy. Not stupid."

Zedaph handed Bdubs the sword, which he sheathed and put into his backpack. Hopefully it didn't slip out and tear the bag into shreds.

Once they got into the city, Tango found a little bit of money from this world - Earth, Chiron had called it - and managed to get them onto a bus. A news station was playing on a screen up above then as they say down.

The bus was hot and smelly. But Bdubs could sleep anywhere-

"Bdubs, don't fall asleep," Tango said, his eyes wide. "Look." He pointed up at the screen.

"Officials are still not sure what caused the explosion," a lady with a microphone was saying. "But we do have a suspect: twelve-year- old Percy Jackson, son of Sally Jackson, who still has not turned up for questioning for his mother's disappearance." A blurry picture appeared, of a boy with black hair and green eyes, in the middle of waving a sword.

Behind her was the wreckage of a bus exactly like the one Bdubs was on. Yellow tape that read Caution! over and over surrounded the area, held up by orange cones. Adults in navy blue uniforms and bright yellow vests wandered the crash.

"Percy's mom is missing?" Gem gasped.

"Annabeth," Zedaph said worriedly.

That scary blonde girl? Zedaph's sister? She was there?

"We can go to the site, maybe get some help from Percy and the quest people," Tango said. "Maybe they've seen Grian and Ren."

They still had no idea what they were doing. But at least now they had a destination.

Another short chapter, but third chapter in a day! Noice.

Should I do POVs of the demigods (Percy, Annabeth, maybe Grover) in this, or just the Hermits? Cause I don't know yet and if I am, I need to start soon.

Also, I don't think there will be many more Scar POVs. He's dead.

Okay, I have a another question. Should Scar somehow escape and come back? Because I feel bad just killing him in the first few chapters and then calling it good... if he died in the last few chapters, then maybe...

:)

Also, thanks for all the comments and votes, I haven't been on Wattpad for super long and they mean a lot <3
