Sorry if I got a username wrong

Also sorry for the delay on this one, I got grounded and also I'm working on the finale to my other book.

"Done," Tango said proudly, holding up his creation.

"Yay!" Gem cheered, standing up. "Can we use it now?"

Tango nodded and pressed the singular button on the communicator. A holographic image of chat appeared above it, but it was completely empty. Of course it was, they weren't connected to the main group chat.

Tango typed in the code to enter the group chat.

(Unknown user): hello? this is tango

Xisuma: aren't you supposed to be at the camp thing?

(Unknown user): yes but things happened and we need elytra

Mumbo Jumbo: what happened?

(Unknown user): grain happened

Mumbo Jumbo: oh dear

Xisuma: I know a way to send them over, Grover gave me one on case I needed to contact him

Falsesymmetry: who are all your godly parents, just curious

(Unknown user): I'm Hephaestus, Zed is Athena, Ren is Ares, Scar died before he could be claimed, and Grian, Gem, and Bdubs aren't yet

ImpulseSV: OH NO SCAR DIED

(Unknown user): yes... didn't he respawn there?

ImpulseSV: NO

Tango put down the communicator with a look of shock. He felt fire coming, because now that he knew it was there, there was no stopping it.

"Tango... what happened?" Gem said, alarmed.

"Scar," Tango said, and shoved the communicator at her. Bdubs and Zedaph peered over her shoulder as she looked at it and paled.

"Oh no, Scar," Zedaph gasped with a hand over his mouth.

It didn't seem real.

But just because he didn't respawn there didn't mean he was dead, right?

Right?

Tango pushed down another surge of flames. Thankfully, his power was weak enough (or he was strong enough, HA) that it didn't take a ton of effort to control.

"Um," Ren said. "Why is there a plant?"

"Because it's a forest," Gem said.

"No, it's a new plant."

"I must have spilled bonemeal," Gem said, pulling a handful of the white powder put of her pocket.

I just realized how that sounded 😳 ITS BONEMEAL I PROMISE

Zedaph and Tango exchanged glances.

"I don't think it was bonemeal that grew it," Tango muttered, too quietly for anyone to hear.

The sound of an engine came from nearby, accompanied by the sound of trees breaking. The Hermits turned in that direction, some in surprise, some in curiosity, and Gem in horror.

"Those poor trees!" she gasped.

And then all thought of the trees was lost due to the gigantic vehicle that emerged from the forest. They stared, wide-eyed, at the white van with a... Staff? Stick? Painted on the side of it. The five Hermits dove out of the way, and it stopped right where they had been sitting.
