tobio shot up, looking at kei worridly.

"what are you talking about?"

reaching out for each others hand, silence took over. kei's uncomfortable movement further worrying tobio.

"you're nothing like him love. you're sweet and caring, and you—"

"don't i have his laugh? his temper? y'know i really used to hate when people pointed out how similar we were, but i'm realizing again that it's true."

turning over towards his lover, the blonde stared into his eyes; searching for comfort within them.

"oh but you're nothing like him. kei, i want you to listen to me."

"hmm?"

"there are parts of you that you see him in and even though i know you hate those parts, you're your own person. you're not him. he doesn't define you love, he never has and he never will.."

"and i love your laugh! it's kinda floaty and reminds me of fireflies in a way."

laughing, the two layed back down. embracing each other as if one of them would disappear if they didn't hold on tight enough. it was them against the world and one shitty person wouldn't change that
