Saturday, December 12th
It's a 3.5 hour to Cornell University, and incase anyone forgot, they are our biggest rivals. The games either end due to a fight, someone gets ejected, or a fight breaks out after the game is over. Safe to say, it's going to be one hell of a game.
The boys left late last night shortly after we got there. The team will stay in a hotel like normal and they'll leave early tomorrow morning.
"Are we getting a room tonight?" Bella asks from the bathroom where she is applying her mascara.
"Yeah, I already booked them, it's $60 each." Chloe responded.
We all get out our phones to Venmo her for the rooms before we forget.
Once we're ready, we start the drive to Cornell University. I'm nervous driving the jeep at first but quickly get used to it.
Bella leans up to the front seat about half way through the drive, "should we be nervous about this game?"
Chloe and I both look at each other and nervously laugh, "probably" we both say.
"Great" Bella breathes and sits back.
It's almost 3 when we get to the hotel and the team bus isn't in the parking lot, meaning the boys are already at the rink.
3 hours later...
Since not many students make the long drive, we were able to get good seats a few rows behind the bench. It's only 6 o'clock so the boys are still allowed out of the locker rooms. They find us shortly after we sit down and make their way over.
"Hi gorgeous" Noah greets.
"Hi." I smile up at him, "you guys ready for tonight?"
He shrugs, "ready as we'll ever be."
He hesitates before adding, "my dad is here."
My eyes widen and I lean in, trying not to let the rest of the group hear, although they are pretty preoccupied. They're in a deep debate about whether or not Cameron could fight a bear and survive.
"What does he want?" I ask nervously.
"Usual, wants us to win because he has some big bet on today."
"Well you just ignore him, play your best and if you win, great. If you don't, oh well."
He nods, "I know, I just don't have the energy to deal with him today." He laughs.
"You'll do great, just focus on the game" I try to give him confidence.
After talking for a while the 6:20 whistle from my dad is heard throughout the rink and the boys make their way to the locker room. Noah gives me a kiss goodbye, Seth hugs Chloe, and surprisingly Andrew gives Nat a kiss on the temple before walking away.
We all look at Nat who has a slightly shocked expression.
"So we're kissing temples now are we" Bella wiggles her eyebrows.
"Um I don't really know. Ever since you guys found out a few weeks ago, things have kind of been up in the air. Before, it was like sneaky links that happened to be exclusive, but now its more flirty, more..." She loses her thought and just shrugs.
"Well the way I see it, there's really only one question here," I shrug, "do you want to be more with him or do you want to just fool around?"
She pauses for a second, "more?" She says it in a questioning tone.
"Are you asking us or telling us" Chloe laughs.
She laughs, "I don't know, feelings are complicated."
