Friday December 17th

Nat's POV

"Hale! Where are you going?" Andrew screams down the stairs running after him.

"The city." Noah responds, too calmly.

"Dude, wait, we'll go with you. Don't confront him alone."

"Whatever," He shrugs, walking out the door.

Andrew looks at me and I nod, both of us rushing to get to Noah's jeep before he leaves.

The entire time we were explaining Scarlett's reasoning, Noah had a blank expression. No anger, no shock, nothing. Like part of him was expecting it. Then after 2 minutes of silence, he grabbed his keys and walked out.

The car ride is silent. Noah's knuckles are white around the steering wheel.

We knew exactly where he was taking us.

Sure enough, 20 minutes later, Noah parallel parks in front of a tall building in the heart of the city. PRESCOTT LAW is in bold letters above the door.

Noah walks in with authority and goes straight past the receptionist to the elevator.

"Hey you need to check in!" She yells, but he ignores her.

We follow him into the elevator and he tries to push the 30th floor, but a screen requiring a passcode comes up. He rolls his eyes and types in 10-20-05. The screen flashes green and begins taking us up.

"How'd you know the password?" Andrew asks.

He laughs dryly, "I didn't. He's so predictable though, thats the day he left my mom and us."

I let out a small gasp and Noah stares straight at the elevator doors.

The elevator clicks at each floor and it finally opens at floor 30. It opens directly into a big office.

There are windows all around the building and 2 assistant desks are on either side of the elevator. Sam's giant desk is across the room by the windows.

They both looked up, surprised.

"Um can I help you? I wasn't aware Mr. Prescott had an appointment so late?" The blonde asks.

"Noah?" Sam stands up from his desk, "what are you doing here?"

Noah storms forward and punches Sam square in the face. All of us let out gasps, even his secretaries. None of us saw that one coming, not even Andrew.

Andrew jumps into action and goes to hold Noah back.

Noah gives him a hard glare, "back off, this is between us."

Andrew backs up with his hands up and comes to stand next to me again.

Sam is still on the ground holding his now bleeding cheek.

"How dare you threaten my girlfriends family, my coaches family. You almost ruined my life."

"Oh grow up, I did what I had to do."

"I am so sick of you treating me powerless." Noah starts pacing, trying to calm himself down.

Sam stands up smugly, "what power do you hold? All of your futures are in my hands."

He stops pacing and turns to look at him.

"Really? Because all is takes is one phone call to a news station or a magazine and you're finished. I will tell everyone exactly what kind of man you are, what kind of father you were. Don't ever  threaten the people I love again."

Sam's eyes were wide with fear, only for a second, before the poker face was back.

"You wouldn't do that."

"Try me, Sam. Call my bluff and see what happens." Noah stands up straight and towers over his father.

"Fine." Sams sighs.

"Fine what?" He glares.

"You win, you can keep your little girlfriend But-"

"No," Noah cuts him off, "I am so sick of you thinking you have any power over me. No more buts. From now on, I call the shots. I'm not 5 years old anymore. I know exactly what your reputation means to you. So if you want your past to remain a secret, I suggest you stop pissing me off."

"Fine," Sam says again through gritted teeth.

"Agree that Coach Nelson's job isn't threatened anymore."

Sam nods, obviously annoyed.

"Say it, out loud." Noah grows more and more irritable.

"Coach Nelson can keep his job."

Noah puts his hand out which Sam takes, visibly annoyed.

We follow Noah as he walks towards the elevator.

As we're opening the elevator doors, Sam speaks across the room, "Noah," we turn back to him, "you'd make a good lawyer some day."

"Being anything like you is my worst nightmare." Noah responds. For the first time, Sam Prescott looks hurt, genuinely hurt. Noah hit him exactly where he wanted to.

The ride back was less than tense, but still silent. I wasn't sure what Noah was going to do now. I mean everything was fine now, right?

We pull into the dorm room parking lot and Noah immediately turns off the ignition and gets out. Andrew and I hurry to follow him.

He takes the stairs two at a time and I'm struggling to keep up. We finally get to the third floor and he walks quickly down the hallway.

He pounds on the door.

Scarlett's POV

"What the hell" I say out loud as someone pounds on my door.

I open it to find Noah, with Andrew and Nat standing off to the side. I start to open my mouth to say something, but what do I say? He shouldn't be here. But I can't tell him to leave.

He leans forward and grabs my face gently, pulling me into a kiss. It takes me a second but I lean into the kiss. I missed this. I missed him.

We break away and he leans his forehead against mine, "I know, I know everything. About Sam, your dad."

I look to Andrew and Nat, who obviously told him, before turning back to Noah, shaking my head, "then you know why we can't do this."

I start to pull away but he quickly pulls me back in, "no, Scar, it's ok. I went to Sam's office."

Shocked, I look up at him, "you what?"

"Don't worry. He agreed that your dad's job is safe. He won't be bothering us anymore. I promise."

I can feel tears threatening to fall, "really? It's all over?"

He nods and kisses my temple, "it's over baby."

I jump up and hug him tightly around his neck, "how? How did you get him to back down."

He shrugged, "If you would've told me a week ago, I would have told you that nothing means more to Sam Prescott than his reputation, not even money. All I did was remind him that I could expose his entire life and he backed down."

I looked to the floor, "I'm sorry, I made us both miserable for a week for nothing."

He lifts my chin up, "it's ok. I know you were worried about your dad. It's in the past now, all that matters is it's over."

I nod and lean up to give him a kiss.
