"Since most of you FAILED the last test I gave you, we'll be doing another one in two days time. So, study, study, study!" The entire class groaned at my maths teacher's words. He rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah I know you guys hate it but too bad. Instead of complaining the entire period, you guys can study."

There was still a few groans before he took his seat at his desk and began marking some papers. I sighed, paging through my maths book, not really focusing much on what I was reading. The door to the class swung open and my head snapped up. Jason made his way into the class, looking like a real bad boy wearing his black leather jacket and black v-neck with his silver dog tags hanging around his neck. I felt my heart beat quicken at the site of him, I haven't seen or spoken to him since our date on Friday night and it's literally been killing me. He's all I can think about, even though I know him and I HAVE TO stay away from each other, I can't help but want to be around him all the time.

The teacher looked up at him and raised his eyebrow, "Mr. McCann, you're late."

Jason just shrugged walking over to his seat that was next to me. Oh gosh, what now? The teacher glared at him before rolling his eyes and going back to his work. As Jason made his way over to his seat, we made eye contact. I felt my cheeks heat up and I looked down at my book. I heard him sit next to me, in his desk. I placed my elbow on the table, resting my cheek in the palm of my hand, in means of trying to hide my face from him. I bit my lip, glancing through the corner of my eye at him. I saw him lean closer to me and my breathing quickened, what is he gonna do?

"Iris?" I heard his raspy voice call my name. I cleared my throat and looked towards him.

"Yes?" I asked quietly.

He licked his lips "What was the teacher talking about before I came in?"

I bit my lip "Um.. Just that we'll be writing another test on Wednesday."

He nodded, "Oh, okay. Thanks."

He sat back in his seat and I nodded before looking back at my book. I don't know if he felt the same way but this entire period just became really awkward.

...

I sat criss-cross on my bed, doing my homework. There was a knock on my door and I looked up to see Adam standing in my doorway. He smiled.

"Hey sis."

I gave him a small smile, "Hey."

He pushed himself off of the door frame and made his way over to the bed, taking a seat next to me. He laid on his back, placing his hands on his forehead. "It's been raining pretty hard outside."

I nodded, "They say it's gonna be like that the whole week."

He sighed, turning on his side and leaning on his arm to look at me. "I have a new girlfriend."

I smiled, placing my book on the side and looking straight at him. "Really? And who is she?"

He smiled, "Her name's Carrie and she's so beautiful, Iris." He chuckled, "I think she might be the one."

I gasped "Oh my gosh, is my brother, the big bad player, finally settling down? She must be something special." I giggled and he smiled.

"She is, but...... Nothing's settled yet, until you meet her and tell me what you think."

I shrugged "Well, if she's nothing like your other girlfriends then I like her already."

He chuckled, nodding his head, "Yeah but I still want you to meet her."

I nodded. "Can't wait."

He sat up and looked at me, raising his eyebrow. "What about you? Any boys caught your eye lately?"

I stared at him blankly, "I am going to kill Gaby."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "can't believe it. I honestly thought Gaby was shitting me but you're actually into a boy?"

I sighed, picking on the ripped part of my jeans. "I was but it's all so complicated now."

He frowned, "Why?"

I sighed, "I found out that he's... He's part of a gang, Adam. I told him I can't see him but..."

He raised his eyebrows, "But what?"

I bit my lip, my eyes tearing up "But I can't stop thinking about him Adam, and it hurts me to know we can't ever be together..."

Adam sighed, pulling me onto his lap. "Don't cry, kid. Come on, it's okay."

He rubbed my back as I buried my head in his shoulder. "If it hurts you so much to be away from him then I have no other solution but for you to be with him."

I furrowed my eyebrows, shaking my head. "B-but dad would never le-"

"Who cares what dad thinks? He doesn't have to know."

I pulled back and looked at him. "But, I-i..... He's in a gang."

He sighed, shaking his head "I know I should probably be telling you to stay away from him but I hate seeing you like this, I want my little sister to be happy and if this guy makes you happy then I'm fine with it but..." He smiled, "let him know if he hurts you, I don't care if he's in a gang, I'll kill him myself."

I bit my lip, "So you think I should be with him?"

He nodded, "If it makes you happy, Iris."

I smiled, hugging his neck, "Thank you, Adam."

He hugged me back. "You're welcome, kid."
