New alpha

I woke up to Josh laying beside me

"Good morning beautiful." Josh said with his eyes still closed

I laughed and tapped his nose with my finger,

"Boop."

"I guess it's now or never." Josh smiled sadly

"What? What happened?" I asked concerned

"Your mom..." he started

"My mom what?" I asked

"She died in a car accident driving back to the city to grab something, some drunk driver hit her into a ditch." He finished

I covered my mouth in shock and the tears started to fall down my cheeks

"My mom is dead..." my voice cracked

Josh pulled me into his chest and I suddenly felt the light sensation of sparks when our skin touched. I cried into his shoulder wishing that reality, for once, wasn't real.

I buried my face in one of the beds pillows and cried for hours, josh left around halfway to give me some space. He came back to me staring at the ceiling,

Josh pov

I walked in to see cadence laying face up staring at the ceiling, no emotion showed besides the tear stains down her cheeks. I walked over to her and sat down on the bed,

"She's gone?" Cadence whispered

I nodded my head and looked down at her

"How long ago?" She whispered again

"A few days..." I trailed off, I had touched her hair and a wave of pain washed over me

Mate connection Axel reminded

I smiled sadly and grabbed her hand, it was so cold, she looked up at me with glossed over eyes

"I will always be here." I said

She smiled up at me and put my hand to her face,

"Thank you josh." She whispered before shutting her eyes to sleep

I left her room and went downstairs to find Mateo holding a cookie and about to walk upstairs,

"Where are you going?" I asked smirking

"Nowhere." He said guiltily

I laughed and showed him to his office up the stairs,

"Woah." Mateo goggled

"I know, the office is awesome." I grinned

Mateo sat down in the swivel chair and turned it in a circle

"How come I never had any of these in the forest?" Mateo laughed

"Un-evolved?" I chuckled

Mateo glared at me and said

"Out."

I immediately walked out of the room compelled by his alpha voice to do so

I was halfway down the stairs when Mateo came up behind me, tapped my head and turned around.

"You're it." He said

He sped off out through the front doors, shifted and took off into the woods, I shifted too and ran after him. A found him smirking at me as a jogged into the clearing he was in,

"what?" I asked

"you're at such a disadvantage." He chuckled

"no I'm not." I retorted

Mateo laughed and glowed yellow as bleach lightning bolt formed on his coat,

"you're an eclipse?" I said dumbfounded

"yup." Mateo said glowing green while his eyes turned gold

"woah." I admired

"there are a total of seven different forms we can take. Eclipse/attack, speed, healing, nature, water, fire, and sky." Mateo explained

"so my mate..." I trailed off

"cadence will be a bit of a handful." He nervously laughed

"I see." I responded

"Amy, cay, and I are all now of power, a Luna, beta and alpha." Mateo stated

"that is true, but Amy?" I questioned

"Amy is Noah's mate, which means Noah will become an alpha soon." Mateo answered

I looked at the sky processing all the information, I looked at Mateo and nodded

"anything I can do alpha?" I asked Mateo

"follow me." He said
