Cadence pov

I wake up to see my room empty so I check the betas office for Josh but see he's not there. I shrug and walk downstairs to see this random lady in a tight red dress sitting at the kitchen bar,

"what are you doing here?" I ask her

"oh," She says, "what are YOU doing here? I'm the new alpha's mate." She smirks

I stare at her, what a pathetic lie

Intruder serena says

"get out now." I command her

"no, you get out." She says strictly

"Mateo doesn't have a mate, and I'm the temporary Luna. So. Get. Out. Now." I say again

" has he not told you I'm his mate yet?" She asks innocently

"fuck you bitch, he doesn't even want a mate! GET OUT." I say in my beta voice

She looks guilty and turns to walk out the door,

"never come back here." I say

She walks faster until she is out of my sight

Fucking bitches serena growls

"it's fine she's gone." I finished

Serena growled again frustrated that someone had had the nerve to try and take advantage of Mateo's immaturity.

I grabbed a granola bar and started chewing on it for a while but then decided to go and find who the gamma (third in command) of the pack was,

I walked outside making sure I looked decent enough to look like a beta, I walked down the streets of the pack's land and found what looked like an art studio just 10 minutes away from the alpha's house.

I opened the glass door and walked into a beautiful mint green room that had a sign "classes up stairs" and an arrow pointing to a stairway, I looked around the little shop and at all the painting supplies before going up the stairs.

I reached the top of the stairs and saw around 7 canvases set up on eases around the room, I walked over to the windows along one side of the room and looked out above the trees to see the mountains glowing from the sun beginning to set. I turned around to just notice the woman staring at me from a small desk on the other sider of the room,

"omg I'm so sorry! I didn't think that anyone was here!" I apologized

The woman just laughed and motioned to a canvas,

"do you paint?" She asked like I totally wasn't trespassing

"a little," I said sitting on the stool next to the canvas, "do you mind?"

"Not at all." She said giving me a water colour palate and a few brushes

"show me what you can do." She smiled

I started painting a few flowers that turned into a meadow, I added a few trees and then the sky,

The lady looked at my painting and smiled, "you really have a gift for art."

"Thank you, I never got your name." I said

"Oh sorry, I'm Camila. What was your name?" She asked

"Cadence, my name is cadence." I replied

"Oh!" Camila smiled, "josh talks about you a lot."

"Josh? How do you know him?" I questioned

"He's my son." She replied
