The night sky seemed more gloomy than usual, the clouds were thick and dark grey. The air was cold and you could smell rain. You think it might've sprinkled earlier since the ground beneath you doesn't look wet.

"Do you think it's gonna rain tonight?" You ask.

Satan looks up at the sky in thought, a small smile on his face. Awe, he has a cute nose.

"Yeah, definitely. Ah, I should've brought an umbrella." He scoffs, "Or maybe you could've blocked each raindrop with your blade."

"You're still hung up about that?"

It's true, though. Right when you two were going to depart, Satan caught a glimpse of the nirichin blade off your hip. You were also wearing your Demon Slayer uniform, so you really did look like you were on a mission. But he deemed it wasn't necessary to bring it along with you.

After a few minutes of going back and forth, you had to just leave the sword back at HoL.

Satan knew your fake story as "fighting evil as a vigilante", so the fact that you were ready to kick ass actually made him excited. What kind of adventure were you expecting tonight?

"I told you it just makes me feel safer." You continue, "Not that I don't trust you to keep me safe, it's just a precaution. Like something you never leave home without."

"I have something similar to that," Satan reaches into his pocket before pulling something out, "It's my sake keep."

"Awwwe!!!"

Dangling from his fingers, was a ceramic little cat hung by a small chain. The orange kitty was in a typical sleeping pose that looked like it was caught in a mid-car crash or something.

"IEBRVRIBAIDJS!?!?"

"Mhm," Satan smiles, "I've had it for a few years now. My good luck charm."

"It's so fucking cute, Satan," You chuckle, watching as he puts it away, "Ah but, since you made me leave the sword behind, you'll just have to protect me."

"I have no issue with that."

You two fall back into a comfortable silence for the rest of the walk. Though, you couldn't help the small pit of anxiety forming in your stomach. You're hoping nothing bad happens tonight, but knowing your luck, you're probably going to get fucked up.

[Spoilers: Things go to shit.]

Reaching the small neighborhood Rui resided in, you and Satan can't deny the heavy atmosphere. It was a typical road with houses lining up on each side. There seemed to be a forest on the left side behind the houses. Not only that, but there were actually a few water towers here and there. Street lights were evenly spread out on each side of the sidewalks, so it wasn't so dark.

"I don't think I've been to this part of the city," Satan hums, "We're lucky it was only 15 minutes away. Where does Rui live?"

"Lemme see my D.D.D?"

Since you did not contain any pockets, your demon friend had to carry your device for you. Pulling it out of his back pocket, he hands it to you so you could check the address Rui sent.

You sent a text to your new son, pleasantly surprised that he replies instantly.

"Hmm… he said he's just gonna come to us. "Wait by the fire hydrant", he said." You inform, handing the phone back to him.

"Which fire-"

Satan stops when he sees one, actually, it was the only one. You snicker as you two approach it, feeling some sense of nostalgia.
