Xingqiu POV:

I stroked Yun Yuns hair as he lay in my lap and honestly it was one of the most adorable sights I had ever seen, he seemed lost in thought but the silence was comfortable so I just stayed like that,

Today had been... interesting... but I did hope Chongyun was ok since I know situations like that can be difficult for him.

I guess there was something about today that I liked. It kind of made me feel like.. everything was back to normal I guess..

I liked that.

The fact that 'normal' was us three in this little house.. that was perfect for me.

Suddenly Chongyun sneezed, pulling both me and him out of out thoughts, I looked down at him and noticed he seemed a bit pale, like, more pale than usual,

"Are you feeling ok? You're really pale." I asked, moving his hair so I could check his temperature,

He was boiling!

"Yeah I'm just a little cold that's all." he responded, placing his hand over mine,

"You're burning up!" I exclaimed, panicking a little incase it was to do with his head,

I called for shenhe and she came rushing upstairs, she told me to stay calm and go and get a cold flannel,

I did as I was told and when I came back Chongyun was lay in bed with a duvet over him, I think he was asleep..?

Shenhe took the cold flannel and placed it on his forehead,

"What's going on? Is he ok?!" I asked worriedly,

"Yes, he'll be fine, it's just a fever, he gets them quite often due to his condition but I'm sure he'll be ok, I'll ring the doctors just incase though, I don't want to risk anything after his head injury.." she informed, "keep an eye on him for me."

I nodded and she left, calling the doctors,

I sat next to him in bed and he took my hand, was He awake?

"Yun yun?" I whispered,

"Hi there Xingqiu.." he replied, not opening his eyes, I figured that since he was burning up he was going to act the same way he did when he overheated.

I was right.

"You're so- so so verrrrry pretty Xingqiu~" He giggled, grabbing my face and opening his eyes a little,

"Shhh yun yun, you need to rest.." I whispered back, trying to brush off the compliment and focus on taking care of him,

"But- but-"

"Now now my love, go back to sleep." I smiled, he was so cute,

"Promise you'll stay here?" He muttered softly,

"I promise, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere." I responded, stroking his hair,

He smiled a little before closing his eyes and allowing himself to fall asleep,

I had kind of forgotten that Chongyun had abandonment issues, and It only just hit me that none of his family came to visit him whilst he was in hospital.. they didn't even call, or send a letter!

I know that they were told of what had happened, I mean Shenhe had a whole conversation over the phone with them, I was sat right next to her,

I frowned a little as I thought about it, he must be terrified of abandonment...

Oh. I forgot about that. The little voice in my head. It had been so quiet lately, why was it back now? Now that everything is starting to be ok again!
