Xingqiu POV:

I lay awake in bed, Chongyun sleeping next to me.

Yesterday we had gone out with Bennett and Razor and drained my social battery below the minimum,

I had gone to sleep as soon as we got home and now I was awake at 4am..

Yay.

I didnt want to wake Chongyun since he seemed to be sleeping pretty peacefully so instead I decided to just sit there and look out the window,

That's when Alaska jumped in,

He ran over to us and cuddled in seeming a little stirred up,

Perhaps he had gotten into a cat fight?

That's when I noticed a few drops of blood on his fur,

I instantly turned the lamp on to see if he had been injured but it seems it was not his blood,

Maybe he really did get into a cat fight,

I got up and went to the window to see if I could see anything from it and as I moved towards the window alaska stared hissing and ran in front of me and hissed even louder, stopping me from going forwards,

"What's going on alaska?" I whispered, picking him up,

He seemed to calm down once I was holding him but still was acting jumpy,

I put him down next to Chongyun before going to the window again,

I looked out and nothing seemed too out of the ordinary until I saw some blood beneath a street lamp and a shadow,

I assumed it must've been the cat that Alaska had fought with and decided to go and see if it was ok,

I did what Chongyun used to do and climbed out of the window, onto the street below,

As I went towards the blood...

What I saw was anything but an injured cat.

It was a man, a middle aged man, with a knife in his side.

"K-Kid- you need to- g-get out of-"

Suddenly, he was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice from behind me,

"Found you~"

Chongyun POV:

I woke up and turned to look at Xingqiu, except he wasn't there?

I assumed he was downstairs but then I saw alaska pawing at the window, the.. open window...

I went and looked out to see blood on the street, my heart dropped,

That couldn't be Xingqiu.

No its not possible.

I went to have a look and it turned out to be a random merchant who had been stabbed by the looks of things,

He was not moving so I went to check if he was alive, it was only 5:30am so nobody was out yet, that's probably why he hadn't received any help,

His heart was beating and he was still breathing, he had just passed out,

I shook him a little to try amd wake him up and he did.

"Sir? Sir what happened to you?" I asked after he opened his eyes fully,

"Kid- kid that kid where- the balladeer-"

'What kid? Did the balladeer do this to you?"

"Yes! I was- I was walking down the s-street at 4:40am, I remember because I was going- going to drop off some important d-documents at the police station! I had to get there early because nobody was supposed to see the documents b-but the balladeer he- he stabbed me and took the documents and then that kid..." he trailed off,

"What kid Sir!?" I half yelled, already getting agitated from the suspense,

"This kid, he looked around.. 15-16 years old.. he had blue hair and- and he came out of nowhere and then the balladeer.. he took him.."

"Blue hair... what... what colour were his eyes!" I now fully yelled, my heart racing, it couldn't be him, it couldn't, please don't let it be him,

"His eyes... I think they were brown.. a-and he had this tassle earing.. I remember that much.."

"Sir... did he come from that direction..?" I panicked, pointing towards my bedroom window,

The man said yes.

Who knew the word yes could hurt so much?

I called am ambulance for the man and as soon as I saw its lights I ran to look for any sort of clues as to where he had gone,

Then I had an idea! Xianglings restaurant! I knew she lived in an apartment above it so I went to the back door and rang the doorbell before knocking aggressively,

The door was answered by Xiangling who looked very tired,

"Chongyun? What are you doing here? Also don't knock so loud, you almost woke up my dad!" She lectured,

"Sorry, I need to look at the security camera footage of the front of the restaurant!" I demanded,

"What? Why?"

"Xingqiu, he's been taken, I need to find him!" I cried,

Her face instantly tuned worried and she nodded before leading me downstairs to the security room,

This restaurant was on the main street so hopefully they walked by it,

The footage was pretty boring for the first half but then I saw someone walk by, it was the merchant with his documents, soon after I saw a man in a large hat walk by aswell, that must've been the balladeer.

After a while of nothing I saw the balladeer walk by again but this time he was holding a limp body. It was Xingqiu, he can't be.. he can't be dead can he?

Then the balladeer turned to look at the camera and lifted his hand before everything went black, luckily from when he turned to face the camera you could see that Xingqiu was still breathing,

I sighed in relief and Xiangling suggested we go to the police about this and I agreed,

They looked at the cameras all over the city and the only thing we saw was that he left liyue and went towards Mondstadt,

They said there wasn't much they could do but they'd get detectives on the case.

That wasn't enough.

I needed to find him now.

I went home and left Shenhe a note, explaining the situation,

I then made my way to look for my boyfriend.
