Chapter 42: "Are We There Yet?"

*Becky's POV*

"Are we there yet?" I asked impatiently. Carter's taking me somewhere special as he says, but he hasn't told me where at. We've been on the road for what seems like hours and I'm very much running out of patience. Plus I'm tired. "No babe, not yet" he said, and I can hint a little bit of annoyance in his tone. "All right" I just simply said. I didn't want to keep on bugging him so I just dropped it and stared ahead of me. I leaned my arm against the window and layed my head down on to it. I closed my eyes for a second but then opened them when I felt a hand on my knee. I looked over at Carter and saw him quickly glancing towards me with a smile. I half smiled and just stared at him. I watched as his eyes were focused on the road and his hand on the stirring wheel. His other hand remained on my knee. I smiled a bit once I heard him let out a small chuckle. "Enjoying the view?" He asked as his lips curved into a smirk. I just kept my gaze on him not wanting to look away. "Maybe" I said lowly. He laughed before speaking. "So you admit that you like watching me whenever I'm doing something?" His eyebrow raised. I couldn't help but giggle a little. "Don't you do the same thing to me?" I played. "And besides, can't I just admire my handsome boyfriend?" I looked at him with a smile. He just shook his head and chuckled. "Only as long as I can admire my beautiful girlfriend" he spoke. "Of course you can" I said back. We burst out laughing. A minute later, and my laughter died down. I looked ahead of me again and wanted to ask the same question as before. I still have no clue where we're going so I don't know how long till we're there. "Carter?" I looked at him. "What?" He said with a smile. "Are we almost there?" I asked cautiously, hoping to not upset him or anything. But luckily, he only chuckled. "Not yet" he spoke. "Okay then" I said as I closed my eyes.

And within seconds, I fell asleep waiting for us to arrive at our destination.
