Chapter 66: Whatever It Takes

Y/N's POV

So I am now in the bunker as I'm getting ready to put my new suit which I made even though I retired.

I open up the case and sigh when I stare at it.

(So this is the new suit. Hope you like it.)

I then put it on and after I put it on I stare in the mirror.

My mask retracts revealing my face.

I breathe in and out a couple times and then see Peggy in the reflection of the mirror.

Peggy: Hey babe.

I turn around to her.

Y/N: Hi.

Peggy: You okay?

Y/N: I'm all right.

Peggy: You're lying.

She walks over to me and rubs my arms.

Peggy: I know you've been having nightmares.

I tilt my head.

Peggy: I know my husband, Y/N. I know the father of my child. You've had nightmares for a while.

Y/N: Why didn't you ever say anything?

Peggy: Because I know you didn't wanna talk about it. So I didn't wanna pressure you. Maybe I should've though.

Y/N: I'm sorry. I just... I couldn't talk about it.

Peggy: Hey.

She cuffs my cheeks.

Peggy: You never have to apologize to me.

I give her a kiss and then pull away.

Peggy: What do you say we bring everyone home?

I nod.

Y/N: I'll be there in a minute.

Peggy: All right.

Peggy then leaves the room.

I go back over to the mirror and stare into it.

Then my mask activates.

Y/N: Bring everyone home.

(Five Minutes Later)

We're all now standing by the time machine.

Steve and I decide to give a speech to the team to boost their morale.

Y/N: Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends. We lost family. We lost apart of ourselves.

Steve: Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams. You know your missions. Get the stones. Get them back.

We all get up on the time machine and put our hands in the middle.

Steve: One round trip each. No mistakes. No do overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. That doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful.

Y/N: Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives.

Steve: And we're gonna win.

Y/N: Whatever it takes.

I look at Steve and Tony.

Steve: Whatever it takes.

Tony: Whatever it takes.

Y/N: Good luck.

Rocket: They're pretty good at that.

Scott: Right?

Tony: All right. You heard them. Stroke those key, jolly green.

Bruce: Trackers engaged.

Steve looks at me.

Steve: You okay, Y/N?

I chuckle.

Y/N: Ask me again when this is all over.

Then we all stand where we're supposed to stand.

Rocket then looks at Clint.

Rocket: You better bring my ship back in one piece.

Clint: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll do my best.

Rocket: As promises go, that kinda sucked.

Natasha gives Steve a kiss and then she stands back in her place.

Natasha: See you in a minute.

Steve nods.

Peggy then looks at me.

Peggy: Till next time.

I smile and nod.

Y/N: Till next time.

We all then look around at each other and then once the machine activates.

We all activate our helmets on our suits and all shrinked down, knowing where we are going.
