Lily and Scorpius enter. It is in this scene where - spoiler alert - our two star-crossed lovers confess their undying love for one another.
Scorpius: This is it, right?
Lily: Yeah. (a beat) By the way, I just wanted to say thanks for sticking up for me. Things definitely would've gotten worse had it not been for you.
Scorpius: No problem. And besides, Albus would have had my head if I never.
A beat as they laugh slightly. Scorpius notices a burn mark on Lily's hand.
Scorpius (regarding the burn): Did they do that to you? (Places hand gently on burn)
Lily (just noticing the burn): Yeah - Well, Jason did, anyway. He likes to test out new spells he's learned on innocent victims. They almost always end up causing some sort of destruction.
Scorpius: That's terrible.
Lily (with tears in her eyes): It's fine. I'm sure he never wanted to hurt anyone...
Lily begins to cry, overwhelmed by the series of events that had taken place. Scorpius wraps his arms around her tightly. It's a heartwarming moment. One that would soon change both their lives forever. After a few moments of embracing, the pair gaze into each other's eyes. Scorpius knows what he has to say now. It's now or never.
Scorpius: I know this is a bad time - Like, a REALLY bad time - but I've been holding something in for a while. Something no one else knows, that I feel like you should.
Lily: What is it?
Scorpius (palms sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy): Well... I'm just gonna say it. I-I... I'm in love with you, Lily. In fact, I think I always have been. I was just afraid to admit it because... well... Your brother is my best friend you know? Not to mention, our parents-
Lily: What about Rose?
Scorpius: Oh, Rose? Well... I THOUGHT I loved her. I THOUGHT that was what love was, but I felt something... Different for you. Deeper, more personal even. Something I couldn't even tell Albus - and not just because you're his sister. Rose is great, don't get me wrong, but if eleven-year-old me knew that what I was feeling for you was actually LOVE and not just some deep appreciation, I wouldn't have even bothered with Rose in the first place, because I love you, and only you.
Lily: After all this time?
Scorpius gazes into Lily's soft brown eyes with an overwhelmingly loving look on his face.
Scorpius (reassuringly): Always.
A beat.
Lily: Well, I'll admit... I've been feeling something too...
Scorpius: Really?
Lily: Yeah... I love you too, Scorpius. I've felt that way ever since I first saw you come to think of it... Oh gosh, James is gonna kill me!
Scorpius: Don't worry about it. If anything, he's gonna kill me.
Scorpius looks at Lily as if to ask for consent. She smiles at him, he slowly leans in... And lightly kisses her. Lily, having dreamed of this moment, wraps her arms around Scorpius' neck, and pulls him closer. While they celebrate their newfound love, The Fat Lady portrait begins to gush over the pair.
Fat Lady: Well isn't that adorable?
Lily (slightly startled): (breaks from the kiss) Not a word to anyone! That goes for both of you.
Scorpius: Can I at least tell Albus?
Lily: Yeah, I can't see why not. He is your best friend after all.
Fat Lady: You have my word. (Opens door to the common room.)
Scorpius (Slowly, smoothly, affectionately, to Lily): Lily Luna Potter... (smiles at her) will you be my girlfriend?
Lily: Yes. Of course, I will. But you know if our parents find out, we're done for, right?
Scorpius: If I'm being honest, you're worth any punishment we would get from our parents. Even if that punishment was death, at least we'd be dying together. (Suddenly cringing inside from the corny dialogue) That was a bit much wasn't it?
Lily (amused): Not at all.
The pair slowly, delicately, yet passionately kiss again.
Lily: I'll see you tomorrow!
Scorpius: See ya!
Lily exits. Scorpius runs off happily.
