Setting: Transfiguration Courtyard

Trigger Warnings: Fantasy Violence

Lily sits under the huge tree decorated with magically lit fairy lights in the transfiguration courtyard one hour before curfew (image linked above), already aware of Simon's circumstances and plan for the next day. She is simply reading a book in peace, minding her own business when Jack enters. Both of his brothers are asleep, so he decides to do some damage on his own.

Jack: Wagwhan, Potter!

Lily (not even looking up): What do you want, Jack?

Jack: Oh nothing much... (takes out his wand) I'm just here to finish the job, that's all.

Lily (unfazed): You don't scare me, Jack.

Jack: Safe, fam. It'd be bare stupid of me to scare you.

Lily: And why's that?

Jack: 'Cause Imma need you to stay still for this.

Lily looks up as Jack aims his wand at her. She sighs with disappointment.

Lily: You're trying to wipe my memory again, aren't you?

Jack: What other choice have I got, blud?

Lily: Well, you could just walk away and trust that I won't tell Jasmine that Jake fancies her like a normal human being.

Jack: Where's the fun in that?

Lily puts the book down, stands and takes out her wand. She aims it toward Jack. He's afraid but tries to play it off.

Lily: "The fun" comes with not taking a jinx or hex to the jaw and, therefore, not getting sent to the hospital wing.

Jack: Getting bare violent, are we?

Lily: To defend myself? Well, (scoffs) I'll do what I have to.

A beat. Jack did not expect this outcome.

Jack (as if making a villain speech): Listen, yeah? You found out something you weren't supposed to know last night. Jake's infatuation with Jasmine was a secret only me and the mandem were supposed to know. In fact, the only reason that bare crusty yute Malfoy knows is that he picked you up so easily, and I figured advice from him would help my brother win over the girl of his dreams still. Now that you know (tightens grip on wand), I'm afraid I have no choice but to wipe your brain clean of the memory. My brother's peace of mind depends on it.

Scorpius enters but stands by the entrance to the courtyard. He draws his wand, but doesn't fire, since Lily seems to have the situation handled.

Lily: That's wholesome, but I'm afraid that's not going to happen, Goyle.

Jack (very much amused): Rahh! You really think you can own me in a du-?

Lily: Eat Slugs!

Jack gets thrown backwards and starts vomiting slugs. He runs away as fast as possible, not even seeing Scorpius as he runs past him. Scorpius, after watching Jack run away, turns over to Lily, who is just now seeing him in the doorway. She starts grinning from the exchange she just had.

Scorpius (immensely impressed): Did- did you just-?!

Lily: I dunno, maybe I did.

A beat. Scorpius starts laughing, amused by Jack's reaction.

Scorpius: Ha! That's my girl!

Scorpius walks over to Lily, lifts her off her feet and spins her around. Lily starts her line after Scorpius sets her down and kisses her.

Lily: I'd assume the plan is still a-go for tomorrow?

Scorpius: Yeah. You ready?

Lily: Ready as I'll ever be. The only problem is, how the heck am I gonna get past James? If he sees me leaving with you, he'll stop at nothing to keep me away.

Scorpius: I mean, we could just bring him with us.

A beat as Lily has a lightbulb moment. She knows Scorpius is onto something, and she's loving every minute of it.

Lily (hopeful): Do you think he'll go?

Scorpius: Well, I mean, if he knows there's a chance we could all die because our dads don't like each other, I'm pretty sure he'd wanna at least try to bury the hatchet. Not to mention, he probably knows the Department of Mysteries better than any of us because of that "Aspiring Aurors Program" Albus said he did last summer, so we could put his knowledge to good use-

Before Scorpius can finish his sentence, Lily takes him by the collar and kisses him, delighted. They pull apart and Lily gazes into Scorpius' eyes with an abundance of love and adoration for the boy she has the pleasure of calling her boyfriend.

Lily: I think you just solved all my problems for me.

Scorpius: (smiles back at her): I'm glad I was the one to solve them.

The pair resume kissing under the tree until they realize that curfew is less than an hour away. They then run into the castle holding hands and laughing.
