AN: It was around this point in the re-writing/cringe purging process that I started rewriting entire scenes to make the plot make sense. I stayed up until around 2:30 AM the night before I posted the rest of the fic trying to pull this off and got really heckin' tired, so if the ending seems a little rushed, that's why. Sorry in advance.

Setting: Prof. Owens' Office (Floo Connection) (Next Day)

Trigger Warnings: Mentions of death

Simon and Albus enter, the latter with floo powder in hand. They have been made aware that James has reluctantly agreed to help them with their mission. Rose and Louis have also agreed to help (Louis is to shadow his Uncle Percy for the day, as his father, Bill, is tired of the feud as well and is aware of the plan).

Albus: Aside from Rose and Louis already being there, I assume we'll all be heading into the ministry together?

Simon: I suppose we will be. (a beat, with slight emotion) Man, I can't wait for this plan to work so I can see my parents again.

Albus: I take it they were killed by Death Eaters?

Simon (solemn): Yeah. Like I said, I've been using a fake ID and posing as the son of a wealthy Progressive Pureblood man ever since.

Albus: Well, if all goes well, they'll be alive in no time.

Simon (hopeful): I sure hope so.

Scorpius, Lily, and a newly somewhat-humbled James enter. Albus is pleasantly surprised to see his brother.

Albus (elated, to James): Well, well! Having a change of heart, are we?

James: Yeah. Never thought I'd see the day, bruv.

Simon: And I'd assume you know what section of the Department of Mysteries the prophecy will be in?

James: Yeah. Row 97. That means it has a 10/10 threat level. It should have Dad's or Draco's names on it.

Lily: Wow. This is the first time I've ever heard you call Mr. Malfoy by his first name!

Albus: You know what that is? (does a little sprouty thing with his hand) Growth.

James (think the "Self Assured" trait animation from The Sims 4): What can I say? A crap-ton can change in the span of fewer than twenty-four hours.

Lily: Are you sure you aren't just saying that because the fate of the Wizarding World is in our hands?

James: Well, I will admit that was part of it, but for the most part... (fully coming to terms with being wrong about the Malfoys) I realized that Scorpius over here is not the same person his father is, and even if he was, Draco probably isn't as much of a dinghed as I originally thought. Me getting vexed at the entire situation was bare childish still. (to Scorpius and Lily) So, to the two of you, I'm sorry. For everything. And I know I don't deserve to be forgiven, but I thought I'd put all this out there anyway.

Scorpius and Lily look at each other, nod in agreement, then turn back to James.

Lily: We have made the unspoken decision to forgive you.

There is a silent moment of peace. Simon stares at the fireplace.

Simon: Right, okay, so, uh, who's going first.

Albus: I'll go.

Albus places his sack of floo powder on a nearby table and takes some powder out of it. He steps into the fireplace, holding the powder in front of him.

Albus: Ministry of Magic!

He throws the powder at his feet and is engulfed in green flames. After a brief moment, the flames disappear, and Albus is gone. This sequence is repeated by Simon, then Lily, then Scorpius and finally James, who takes Albus' floo powder sack with him.
