18. After Party

It's roughy 8:00 pm and we're in the bus on the way to the local club for the after party. I've texted my mum and Keira to let them know and they are all coming. When we get to the club we take a few team photos. I'm currently wearing black skinny jeans, my Lyon jersey and a pair of black and white dunks. I go to the bar with Ellie carpenter and Lindsey Horan for a drink. "Have you got any family coming" I ask Lindsey as the bar tender gets our drinks
"Yeah my mum, dad, brother and boyfriend are all coming what about you"
"My mum and dad, aunt and uncle, nana and grandad and 3 friends" I say smiling
"We'll cheers to that" Ellie says as we clink our drinks and take a sip. Just then I look over at the door and see my mum and dad and the rest of my family walk in so I walk over and hug them one by one, I see Ellie and Alex behind them so I hug them too and then I see Keira, she's wearing denim skinny jeans, a Lyon jersey with my name on the back and white heels "wow, now that's commitment" I say laughing as I hug her and kiss her cheek.
"Do I look ok, I was going to dress up more but I wanted to wear the jersey" she says smiling
"You look amazing kei, is Steph minding Kara"
"Yeah she was asleep before we left so it's grand"
"Come on I'll get you a drink" I say as I put my hand on her lower back and we walk to the bar.
"What do you want" I ask
"Am, I'll have a vodka and coke"
"Can I have a vodka and coke please" I say to the bar tender and he goes and gets the drink, I turn to Keira and say "so how are we going to tell them"
"I don't know have you any plans" she asks
"We'll actually I do" I say with a smirk
"We'll tell me then"
"We'll there's like private seating areas for players and their families and I was thinking of like getting everyone together and making a toast and saying it then" I tell her
"Yeah I'm up for that" she says smiling as the bar tender hands her her drink and we walk over to my family "mum come over here there's a private section" I say pointing at the empty booth and they all follow me over. I sit at the end of the seat and Keira sits next to me, I talk to my family for a few minutes before my aunt Caroline says
"We'll are you going to pop the champagne or what" referring to the bottle in the middle of the table. I grab it and pop the cork before pouring some for everyone, "speech" Alex shouts and everyone stands up. "Oh god ok, I just want to say thanks to everyone because none of this would be possible without you so cheers to the best support, the best fans, the best friends, family and" I pause for a second before turning to Keira and putting my hand on her lower back and say "the best girlfriend" I lean down and kiss her and all my family cheer. I pull away and smile before downing my champagne. I lean down and hug Keira
"I love you so much" I say to her
"I love you too" she says blushing.
I hear the song 'Sweet Caroline' come on and I'm suddenly being pulled into the dance floor by Ada.

*Time Skip*
It's now a few days since the win. We've done the trophy celebrations back in Lyon and I'm currently sitting on the sofa at Keira's house with Kara cuddled up to my side and Keira making dinner in the kitchen. "Leah" kara asks
"Yeah what's wrong"
"Can we go to your mummy Mary's house" she says not taking her eyes away from the tv, I'm a bit shocked to be honest
"I don't know kar it would be a very long journey"
"Why"
"Because my mummy lives very far away, we would have to go on a plane or a boat to get there, but I'll take you a different day"
"Promise" she asks
"I promise" I say as I get up off the sofa and walk into the kitchen and sit at the table.
"You'll never guess what Kara just asked me"
"What" Keira says as she walks around preparing dinner.
"She asked if we could go to my mums house"
"Oh, what did you say"
"I told her my mum lives far away but I promise would take her a different day"
"Oh so you promised" Keira says with a smirk
"Yes I did" I say cheekily
"Oh I forgot to tell you what she asked me last night"
"Go on"
"She asked me if you were her new mum" when I hear this I perk up and turn my head towards Keira who is now looking at me.
"What did you tell her" I ask
"We'll I told her we'll have to wait and see but she didn't have to call you mum if she didn't want to"
"Good answer" I say smiling
"Oh was it really" she says as she walks over to me and sits on my lap, she puts her hands around my neck and kisses me, it was getting heated and then my phone rang and my moms name popped up
"Ugh mother" I curse as I pull away from Keira
She just laughs as she get off of my lap and walks back over to the sink and I answer the phone

Oh no I was just wondering I won't keep you long, look the reason I'm ringing is because I'm after getting and email from your old school asking if you could come in next week and give a talk and they asked if you have any other footballer friends who want to come to bring them as-well
Oh ok, I don't know I'll have to think about it mum
And also, I have a wedding invitation here for you but the wedding is next Friday

Ugh, I internally sigh because I know what side of the family are going to be there and I really don't like them.

Bye mum I say as I hang up. I put my head in my hands "Ugh"
"Everything ok" Keira asks as she puts a plate of food in front of me and sits opposite me.
"Thanks, yeah just my mum, is Kara not eating"
"No she said she's not hungry, what did your mum say" she asks intrigued
"We'll firstly my school emailed her asking if I'll give a talk next week and if I'll bring other footballers with me, and secondly she told me today that my cousin is getting married next Friday" I sat stressed
"Ok and why is it a problem" she asks while eating her dinner
"We'll we're on holidays for starters, and I don't really get on with some of the family that are going to be at the wedding, plus I want to spend time with you and kar"
"We'll we could go with you"
"Really, you don't have to if you don't want to kei"
"Seriously, I mean Kara wants to go to your mums house and plus it will be some quality family time before we go to LA the week after"
"So will you do the talk at the school with me"
"Yeah"
"And the wedding, the invite says Leah and +1"
"Yeah so I'll go to that too, but what about Kara"
"I mean I guess I could tell my mum to ask if we can bring her"
"Yeah, it's a plan then, see no need for all that stressing"
We then hear Kara walk into the kitchen and she comes over and sits on my lap.
"You alright kar" Keira asks her
"Can I have some asketi"
"Yeah I'll get you some" Keira says and I look at her confused "spaghetti" she says and I laugh. When it's ready Keira brings it over and puts a bib on Kara.
"What you putting that on her for"
"Just wait and see" she says before putting her in a high chair and she starts eating. We talk for a few more minutes until I look over at Kara and laugh.
"Now do you see why I put it on" Keira asks laughing
"Yeah" I say as I pull out my phone and take a picture of her and put it on my instagram story
