"I thought animus magic broke ten years ago." Sandshard said. "How do you have it?"
"Animus magic runs in the SeaWing Royal Family," Gill said. "It was likely a spell that broke the power of living animi, not ones that hadn't hatched yet."
Magma realized something. "Listener, you knew about Gill having animus magic, didn't you?"
Listener nodded. "We've discussed it multiple times. Maybe you should talk about the message that Sandshard found in the Lost City of Night."
"What message?" Beetle asked.
"I found a message written in the Old Language." Sandshard explained. "It was two words. My friend Snowdrift was able to translate the second word."
"What did the message say?" Beetle asked.
"Persephone resurget." Sandshard said.
Beetle gasped, and Poison Oak twined her tail around Firefly's.
"What?" Sandshard asked.
"In the Old Language," Beetle began. "Persephone means 'the Bringer of Death and Destruction'." Then Beetle gasped. "The leader of the dragons in Athena's scroll! It could be referring to her!"
Magma shivered.
Then someone screamed.
