LAUREN'S POV
"Okay, Calix, please take off your hood so we can see your face," our teacher instructed.
"Okay, ma'am."
As Calix removed his hood, I couldn't help but glance at him. His face was smooth and handsome—it was the same guy I saw at the tree. Oh gosh, it's him. I hope he doesn't recognize me.
He was my elementary crush, but not anymore, I promise.
"Lauren, psst," someone whispered.
I turned to Meshie. Oh, it was Denise.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Isn't he your, you know," she pointed discreetly at Calix.
"Oh gosh, yeah, please don't point. It's embarrassing," I whispered back, hoping he wouldn't overhear.
"Okay, class, since you're done introducing yourselves, it's my turn. I'm Xhandra Valdosta," our teacher said.
I looked at her, realizing I hadn't been paying attention to my classmates' introductions.
After Miss Valdosta introduced herself, she started teaching.

Discuss.
"So, class, goodbye."
After Miss Valdosta finished teaching, we had a break. Our next teacher arrived, introduced themselves, and we dove right into studying.
Just as the second teacher left, the bell rang, signaling lunchtime.
Ring!! Ring!!
"Let's go, lunchtime at the cafeteria," Roxie said, standing up. We all followed suit and left the room.
As we walked out, a guy in STEM uniform approached us. Why was he here?
"Um, miss," he addressed Meshie.
"Yes?"
"Are you classmates with Calix?"
"Who's Calix? There are many Calix in the world, and who are you?" Roxie replied sarcastically, making Denise and I chuckle.
"I'm Axson Clark Del Vale, miss, and it's Calix Spencer Alfonso your classmate?"
I was surprised by his question. Meshie and Roxie didn't answer because Calix had already left.
"Hey, bro, I've been looking for you," Axson said as he approached Calix.
"Tsk," Calix replied shortly. His answers were always so brief.
"Let's go," Roxie said, so we left them and headed to lunch, leaving the two guys behind.
