LAUREN'S POV

"Pre, why are your ears turning red?"

I heard him ask Calix, but Zaren answered instead.

"Hahaha, he's blushing, bro. Didn't you hear earlier?"

"Nope, I had my headphones on. Just tell me the story."

I heard Kevin say.

"Let's go, guys."

Finally, they invited me to leave. I still feel embarrassed. We have to pass by Calix's table.

"Hey miss, you're Lauren, right?"

Kevin asked me, but I just ignored him and kept walking. I didn't even glance at them.

"She's ignoring you, bro."

"Hahaha, she's just snobby. Maybe because you're ugly."

I overheard, but that was the last comment. I had already walked away, with Denise following me since she left earlier.

I kept walking until Denise called me to sit on a bench first; we didn't have afternoon classes yet.

"Lauren, let's sit here!"

"Psst! Lauren."

I ignored them until I reached our classroom. I sat down and rested my head on the table.

I felt ashamed of what they did earlier. I don't even understand why I feel irritated.

I felt like I was blushing for some reason. A crush back? I don't even have a crush on him anymore. But why do I feel this way?

We only just met again today. I can't do anything; I'm still sitting on my chair with my head resting on my arm. I might as well sleep; what time is it?

I checked the time on my wristwatch, and it's only 12:08. I might as well sleep since Roxie isn't here; they probably know I'm annoyed, so they didn't follow me.

I fell into a deep sleep until I felt someone staring at me and lightly shaking me.

"Lauren, wake up, it's 12:45, almost 1:00."

When I heard that voice, I lifted my head. I was surprised because Calix was so close; we were almost about to kiss. I quickly averted my gaze, afraid I might have drooled.

I quickly touched my lips; thankfully, there were no traces of saliva. I fixed my hair before looking at him again.

"Um, sorry, but can I ask why your face was so close to mine when I woke up? Why did you wake me up?"

"Because it's already 12:45, and it's almost 1:00."

"Okay, but why were you so close?"

"Ah, because you wouldn't wake up, so I got closer and lightly tapped your arm."

"Okay, thanks."

I looked at Meshie and realized they still weren't here. Where could they be?
