Veer and Dhwani stopped on their tracks.
That was unexpected.
"Or what? Why do you even care about this stuttering fool? " The bully taunted him.
" Because she is my friend and that's what friends do. "
" Really?"
The bullies pushed him down.
Dhwani rushed towards the boy and girl on the floor as I went and stood behind them.
"Oyy what are you doing? " Dhwani asked with fire in her eyes.
Veer had never seen her this angry. She looked ready to murder those boys.
She did look hot though. Really Veer. He facepalmed himself in his mind.
"Nothing." The boy replied taking a step backwards.
"It didn't seem like nothing" she scoffed.
"We were just playing. They are our friends. "
"Kya yeh log thumhara dosth hai? " I asked the girl who was brushing the dust of her skirt.
She shook her head. " They are not our friends. They always tease Charu. " The boy answered for her.
That's when I clearly saw the boy's face.
Veer was stunned by the determination reflected in those wide ocean blue eyes. His cute little button nose were red in anger. A mop of dark brown messy curls covered his head. At that moment Veer felt a new emotion inside him. A feeling that screamed at him to protect this innocent soul from this world at any cost.
Dhwani's sound broke his trance.
"Always think twice before lying. " "Never repeat this ever again. Am I clear? "
The boys nodded and ran off.
Dhwani turned towards the girl and boy with a newfound tenderness.
"Aapka nam kya hai? " "Ch... Ch.... Charu " The girl stuttered. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Dhwani replied which made the her blush.
"Aur aapka naam kya hai?" I asked the boy. "Laddoo " the boy answered proudly. "Accha laddoo kyun?" dhwani questioned. "Kyunki mujhe laddoo bohot pasand hai." He replied gesturing with his hands.
"Aap kon ho?" His question was etches with curiousity. "Mai Dhwani hu aur ye Veer"
"App log yaha kyun aaye? " "Hamne suna ki yaha ek laddoo hai aur usko bohot saari laddoo pasand hai"
He giggled.
"Laddoo Charu , what are you guys doing here? Go and play with the other children. " One of the staff said coming towards us.
