With Love, Nathalie!

It had been months since Nathalie had rejected him, had refused to help him come up with a new plan. Though he tried to apologize, once she had arrived at the mansion, she just gave him a contemptuous look and said wearily:

"I trusted you Gabriel and I loved you, but I can't do that anymore and I can't keep waiting for you to either succeed or see, what's in front of you!"

Then she had gotten onto the tips of her toes, supported by the device, that also helped her walk, and had pecked his lips.

Then she had grabbed her already packed things and left for good.

He still wasn't over that. Despite having all those miraculous', he didn't even try to use one of them, feeling too ashamed of the things, he had done.

To his surprise it wasn't Emilie he kept thinking of, it was the woman, he had shared his bed with over months before she left. His bed and at a few, very vulnerable occasions even more.

But he screwed it all up, just because he couldn't stand to watch himself being defeated by Ladybug again.

"I am such an idiot!", he shouted against the wall, that once held Emilie's large portrait. He had taken it off and had it replaced with a different one, the only one he had with all of them. Himself, Emilie, Adrien and .......her, Nathalie.

He looked at her eyes now, as he had done so many times before and begged:

"I would do everything, I would give up my wealth, my properties, my company, even my name, if you just came back to me!"

Then he fell to his knees and sobbed savagely.

Adrien had heard him and carefully entered the office.

"Father?", he asked, "are you alright?"

The man looked up at his son, his eyes red and swollen, tears and snot covering his face and spat:

"Do I look okay? I-I'm sorry Adrien, I just.....I miss her!"

The teenager approached his father slowly, wondering:

"Just to be clear, who are we talking about? Mum or ........... Nathalie?"

"I am sorry to tell you that, but, it's Nathalie I can't stop thinking about!", he said barely audible.

Adrien smirked.

"There is no need to be sorry for missing the person you love, father!", he said and crouched down in front of him, offering his open arms for a hug. The tall man immediately clang on to his smaller son and started to sob into his shoulder, when they heard the doorbell chime.

Gabriel froze.

Only someone who knew the code to get through the gates could ring that particular bell.

"Nathalie!", he exclaimed and jumped to his feet to rush to the wooden, two winged entrance door.

He pulled it open so forcefully, that it slammed against the wall with a loud thud, to then look at....

Nothing!

Yet the loud bang had caused another earsplitting noise, that emanated directly from the spot in front of his feet.

Shaking he looked down as soon as he heard the familiar noise and with a loud sob, he broke down and buried his face in his hands.

There was no doubt, what he was looking at. The newborn child, that lay right in front of him, in a baby car seat, covered in a warm blanket and dressed in warm clothes, wore a small knitted beanie with the pattern of a peacock's tail feather.
