Chapter 19
Setting Into the Horizon

I snapped back on my thoughts upon hearing Ate Alma's voice. Nilingon ko siya, behind her were a few of our house maids and they were nodding their heads, obviously agreeing with Ate Alma.

If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be able to notice that I was pacing back and forth in the same place. It's the weekend. Mom scheduled the talk right away pagkatapos kong sabihin sa kanya na nasabihan ko na si West sa gusto niyang mangyari. This is probably the worst kind of discomfort I've ever felt in my whole life. West isn't even my suitor or my boyfriend—or whatever mom thinks his part is in my life, this is way above. Much wort and nerve-wracking.

I took a seat. Ate Alma placed a drink in front of me and I instantly drank it all up. Standing up, I've decided to go out to inhale some fresh air.

I went out. Sa may garden ako naupo. And just like what I thought, the air immediately calmed my rampaging thoughts.

"Hey," I immediately stood up from my seat when I heard West. He's dressed up in his casual clothes, plaid blue button down folded just above his arm, a white shirt inside, and a lighter shade of denim pants. But what made him even more handsome is when his face engaged in a smile that created little wrinkles around his eyes and grooves in his cheeks.

That erased the creases between my brows. "H-how did it go?" I asked, still a bit anxious.

West scanned me for a bit before his hand went up to my hair, ruffling them gently. "It went well,"

I waited for a few seconds more, thinking he'll add more words. Naningkit ang mga mata ko. "That's it? Wala ka ng idadagdag?"

West chuckled leaving me starstrucked, the pale blue sky was reflected in his eyes, like a billion-worth painting. "Wala na. You're thinking too much, 'Rin. Your mom and I had a great talk." he said, nudging my shoulders in return, assuring me that the talk went well.

West had to leave after.

I let out a sigh of relief. Now it's my turn to finally talk to mom but with a different matter. I walked upstairs to their room, and almost stumbled on the last step—a bit occupied.

"Come in,"

Mommy was sitting on the edge of their bed, and on top of it are papers or documents that I didn't had the chance to look at because she hid it after noticing that it was me who entered.

"Yes, Koa? What do you need? Nagsumbong ba sayo ang kaibigan mo?" mommy asked, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Mommy— West would never do that. He told me that the talk went well and that I don't need to worry about it. May dapat po ba akong malaman?"
