when we arrive at the cabin, we get our bags out of the trunk. we only had a duffel bag each because we were only staying two nights. stupid school.

we only have a little over a month left, thank god. and prom is only in less four weeks. i already have my prom dress. i need to remind matt of the color so he can find a tie to match. we haven't really talked about prom at all.

"this place is nice!" josh remarks as we enter the cabin.

"cheapest one we could find." nick says, looking around.

we head upstairs where the bedrooms are. "which room am i in?" i ask.

"which ever one you want. we only have three, though."

"what?!" elmer looks confused, "yeah, you guys really did pick the cheapest cabin."

"i call this room!" josh runs and flops on a bed.

"okay, no." nick says in his authoritative voice, "we need some order around here. this is a boys and girls together trip after all."

"but you're gay." chris deadpans. "and y/n is bi. we're too diverse for hetero-normative rules."

"SHUT UP! girls, gays, annoying straight boys that never shut up, they are all here. all i'm saying is we need to assign rooms. this isn't a free for all."

matt and chris sigh and roll their eyes exasperated. great, now nick just made it awkward. and what does it matter anyway? i sleep in the same room, heck, the same bed as matt and chris all the time.

"there is a room with a set of bunk beds with a jack and jill bathroom connected to a room with a queen sized bed. then over here," he point to the other side of the room, "that room has a king. and there," he points to a couch beside the door to the room with a king, "is a pull out couch." he then looks around and finds the other bathroom. "and this is the other bathroom. there is also a half bath down stairs."

"thank you so much, real estate agent nick." chris chuckles. nick laughs a little too.

"me and matt can take the king." chris says, dapping up matt. nick rolls his eyes. "no fair!" josh shouts, "what if i wanted the king." "we called it first." chris says. "dibs."

"me and josh can take the bunk beds." elmer offers.

"how kind." nick says, then looks at me and madi expectantly. "i can have the couch and you and madi can have the queen." i shrug.

"okay. it's settled." nick says as if to hit the gavel in court.

we go off to our room to put up our stuff and matt comes over to me. "why would you do that? couch pull outs suck."

i shrug. "they aren't that bad." truth is, i didn't want to share a bed with madi because we don't know each other very well and it would be awkward, and i didn't want to kick anyone to the couch, i would feel bad.

"well, if it gets uncomfortable, you can sleep with me and chris." i snort a laugh at that. to anyone else that would sound extremely weird. "i don't know, that might be against nick's new rules and regulations."

matt scoffed then smiled, "maybe that's why you are on the couch." matt looks at me, "because you're bi. he can't put you in bed with anybody." we both bust out cackling and matt hits the couch a few times. eventually we were just laughing because we were laughing. we would just look at each other and burst out wheezing again.

eventually we all decided to get in the hot tub. it was about 9 o'clock so it was dark and cool outside. i didn't know if it would be big enough for all of us, but guess we will find out.

i go to the bathroom to change into my swimsuit.

when i get out, i go to grab my towel from my bag and i see josh starring at me in the door way of his and elmer's room. weirdo.

"hey." i say to snap him out of it.

"hey." he says back with a drawl in his voice that makes me look over to see him smirking at me.

i give him a weird look and go knock on matt and chris's door. it opens, revealing chris's smiling face. i look behind him to see matt bent over zipping a bag.

"are y'all ready?" i ask them. they are both in their trunks so i would think so.

matt turns around and smiles when he sees me. "hey. yeah, we're ready."

i don't know why i got butterflies. i could stop my eyes from taking a swift look at his bare torso. he isn't buff by any means, but i don't want him to be. i like skinny little matt.

he grins bashfully and blushes. shit. he caught me. i'm just as bad as josh.

it's at this moment i realize we're alone. chris must have walked right passed me.

matt walks towards me. to the door. why do i make everything about myself?

he walks right by me, leaving me distraught.

i follow behind him and we join everyone else down stairs. elmer and nick are out on the deck taking off the hot tub cover.

"two, four, six." chris counts, pointing at his stomach. "yeah, well mine are more defined." josh says as me and matt enter the room.

"hey, competitions over," chris says looking over at me, "y/n's got better abs than anyone in this house."

"pffft," i wave a hand.

"oh, yeah?" josh says looking at my abdomen. this man gave me the creeps.

"yeah, she's really athletic." chris says naively to his friends pervyness.

i was wearing high waisted bottoms, so you couldn't even see my whole stomach.

"whatever," i say and we head out to the hot tub.

i looked back at matt before i caught the door from chris's exit.

matt was holding his towel up to his chest and he had a sad look in his eyes. was he insecure about his body? if only he knew how i fantasized about it all the time.

"matt?" i say turning around to face him, "what's wrong?"

he looks up at me, caught off guard. "nothing."

i look him in his eyes and he continues, looking at the ground, "i just don't have abs." he forces a small laugh.

i step closer to him and tilt his chin up gently. "matt, you don't need abs. you're beautiful just the way you are." i smile a little at the cheesiness.

he brushes it off with a, "thanks." and tries to go to the door, but i lightly grab his arm to stop him.

"i mean it." i whisper, pushing his towel away. i run a hand down his torso to his stomach, stopping at his belly button. my whole body is on fire. i look back up at his face. he is staring at me intently.

"well, i'm glad you like it." he whispers so low it's barely audible.

i bring my other hand to his waist to pull him closer when the door swings open.
