Part One / Chapter Nine
Robin, Yurina and Steve were piled into the back of the cart Erica and Dustin grabbed before their rescue mission. The younger children watching the teens in the back laugh, bicker and stammer over their words like drunken idiots.
Yurina sat beside Steve trying to braid his hair with the little amount he had, leaving him with two braids that stick out of his head like antennas. Robin and Yurina broke out into maniacal laughter at Steve. Dustin pressed on the gas rocking the teens in the trunk back and forth. Steve groaned, "Jesus, slow down!"
"Yeah, what is this, like the Indy 500?" Robin slurred.
"It's the Indy 300." Steve corrected.
"No, dingus, it's 500!"
"It's 300!"
"Let's say a million!" Robin perked up, sending Steve and Yurina into a laughing fit. Dustin and Erica looked back at them worryingly.
"What's an Indy?" Yurina asked. They all stopped laughing and looked at her, before immediately going into more roars of laughter. "I'm serious I don't know what that is."
"What is wrong with them?" Erica looked to Dustin for some sort of answer, but he didn't have one. The situation was too stressful to actually think about what happened to the three older teens while they were in Russian custody. Speeding down the hall, Dustin crashed into a stack of oil cans before he was able to break. The young adults in the back of the cart crashed against the cage surrounding them, groaning on impact. Dustin turned toward them, "You guys alright back there?" They all held their heads in pain. "They're fine."
Dustin and Erica opened the trunk and ushered them out of the cart, scolding them when they wouldn't move fast enough. They were pushed into the elevator, and went back to their shenanigans. Steve riding a pull cart like a surfboard and Robin holding the end of it, all of them whooping giddily watching Steve. "I'm a natural! Check it out!" He shouted.
"If you fall, I'll catch you!" Yurina held her arms out. Robin pulled the cart back flinging Steve off of it, he completely missed Yurina and crashed onto the ground next to her. Dustin and Erica watched them chuckle and roll around the ground like lunatics wondering what happened to make them act this way.
"I thought you were gonna catch me, you're a horrible cheerleader!" Steve yelled. Yurina kneeled down and grabbed him by the collar.
"Hey! I'm an amazing cheerleader, you have awful coordination!" Yurina let him go and sat against a stack of Imperial Panda boxes. "I'm gonna take a nap."
Dustin pinned Steve to the ground, pressing his hand against his forehead to find that he was burning up like he had a fever, and his eyes were super dilated. Erica suggested drugging as a cause of their odd behavior. "Steve, are you drugged?"
