object shows are just a -Myth-

The crossover that absolutely nobody asked for.

Before someone asks why I still use MS Paint, it's because I don't have the patience to learn a different application. Seriously, there's like a million buttons on the screen and every single one I press seems to do something completely different to the drawing. Paint is easy, and (if you use the pencil tool) it has a functional, not-screwing-me-over-with-those-tiny-leftover-pixels-near-the-borders fill tool. I'm probably just saying that because I haven't learned how a fill tool is actually supposed to work, but still.

Also, shading. I know I complain about not knowing how to shade a lot, so I experimented on a few of these. Now you can see for yourself.

Finally, I apologize in advance for the horrors you're about to see. This is only the second time I've ever digitally drawn objects, and I've never claimed to be much of an artist. In fact, it really makes me wonder why I decided to undertake such an ambitious crossover as only my fourth digital art project.

Anyway, enough explaining and apologizing. It's time to reveal what I've spent about twelve hours of my life on, starting with four million shrimps' favorite shark, Golf Ball.

Awful, I know, and I really have no other excuse for this one other than that I just got lazy. Although this one looks like the first one of the five that I did, this was actually the last one. All the other four look at least 1% better than this one, I promise. As a matter of fact, the only reason I chose Golf Ball for this one is that she's short. (And I guess the human version of Golf Ball is hydrodynamic, too.) Apologies, Gura.

This is the first one I did, and if I hadn't butchered Gura so badly, you'd probably believe it

This is the first one I did, and if I hadn't butchered Gura so badly, you'd probably believe it. I'm pretty sure the only reason I chose Suitcase for Ina is that Suitcase has those weird anxiety tentacle things and that they looked somewhat similar to Ina's tentacles. As for the gradient on her flaps/straps, I was ready to bonk myself on the head with a crowbar trying to think of how I was going to do that—until I found out about GIMP's gradient tool. I can always count on GIMP to let my sanity live to see tomorrow.

This one was undoubtedly the hardest one. I was already dead and beat just trying to figure out how Fanny's body shape would fit into Calli's clothes (or just clothes in general). And even then, I still don't think this is the best way I could have done it. But this was already the fourth one and it was driving me crazy, so I finally said "screw it" and ran with it faster than a dad getting milk.

I'm not sure if I'm disappointed in or proud of myself for this one. Both Test Tube and Ame are really smart and big gamers, so this correlation was a no-brainer. This was the second one I did, and I kid you not, I screeched like a gremlin and almost pounded my wireless mouse into the ground when I realized how hard drawing Ame's clothes would be. I thought her clothes were the hardest thing I would have had to draw. (Until I started drawing Fanny.)

And finally, last but most certainly not least...

I know that I trash-talk my own art a lot, okay, but this

I know that I trash-talk my own art a lot, okay, but this...is just divine—exquisite. (Okay, not really, but you know what I mean.)

I'm gonna be honest, I almost chickened out when I got to this one, but I'm really glad I didn't. I think this is the first drawing I've ever made that I'm actually proud of. It probably looks mediocre to you (and I don't blame you), but knowing how I draw, I think I actually outdid myself on this one, even though it was only the third one. I can't exactly remember why I chose Lightbulb as Kiara, but I think it was because they're both kinda loud and air-headed at times. (Also, this might just be me, but Kiara's sword looks SO GOOD like holy hell how did I do that—)

Here's all of them side-by-side in the order that I drew them. In hindsight, I guess it's more aesthetically pleasing that the one I think I drew best is in the middle.

This might not really have been a thousand-year journey, but it definitely felt like it. At least I can say that I've actually drawn fanart now.
