The whole afternoon were spent with Lan Xichen teaching Jiang Cheng the basic stance, foot works and basic attack forms. Jiang Cheng found it interesting, He had been in a fencing tournaments back in highschool, he missed the sport and had bo time to associate with it anymore, but with this it’s starting to come back to him. It was different but he was starting to get the gist with the movements besides Lan Xichen is a great teacher. Right now he could feel Lan Xichen behind him, his hand holding his own that was gripping the sword, with his back is pressed against Lan Xichen he could feel him breathing against his neck.

 “Lift your arm.. Yes like this” Lan Xichen instructed

Jiang Cheng tried to concentrate but with this closeness it was becoming a little distracting and the breath tingling next to his ear made him fight back a shudder.

“Yeah I think got it” Jiang Cheng tilted his head and the movement caused him to be face to face with the man. There was a few seconds of silence in the air before the other spoke.

"You really have a beautiful eyes" Lan Xichen said and for some reason Jiang Cheng felt his face slowly getting heated, Surprised at the sudden compliment out kf nowhere, he weren’t able to make a response but he thought that if he will move his head for just a bit they would probably...

"Zewu-jun The--" Lan Jingyi paused midway and stared at them holding a tray of filled with letters and scrolls.

The two immediately stepped back as if they burned each other with their touch, Jiang Cheng tried playing it cool.

“Yes, Jingyi” Lan Xichen addressed the boy, a smile is on his face but Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but wonder if he saw the slight annoyance on man’s face or its just his imagination.

“The documents you asked, I have them... And dinner is almost served, Meng Yao is looking for you”

“I see Thank You Jingyi just bring those to Hanshi”

When Lan Jingyi left Jiang Cheng sheaths his sword back and wiped his forehead.. Gods he was sweating and it feels uncomfortable with these flappy sleeves he had.

“I prepared you a spare room and robes, you must be feeling uncomfortable now, I will wait at the Dining hall” Lan Xichen smiled at him giving him a small pat on the shoulder before leaving.

Jiang Cheng nodded, seeing Lan Xichen heading inside the Hanshi, once he was out of sight Jiang Cheng started walking back following the path towards the Guest rooms. If it was the same room where he stayed last time then he should be able to find it. He passed by the halls and rolled his shoulder, sighing when he heard a few crack there and he looked up stretching his neck before rounding the corner where he bumped into someone.. The impact sent him stumbling back a few steps, whoever the person is they sure is sturdy.

“Ah shit—I’m sorry I didn’t see you.. “ Jiang Cheng trailed off when he that it was Lan Wangji. The second young master of the Gusu Lan Sect, Lan Xichen’s younger brother. he paused for a moment trying to recall what Lan Wangji’s role again in the story and Jiang Cheng couldn’t really remember anything important aside from that last battle at the Guanyin temple? For some reason Lan Wangji’s character didn’t really got emphasised, he is always mentioned but appeared very rarely. Its like the author completely forgot about the guy or purposely didn’t include him, as someone that’s important to the main protagonist Lan Wangji surely is not very present.

Now that he realizes this, its a bit strange.

Lan Wangji just stood there giving him a long stare which is starting to make him very uncomfortable.
