Lan Xichen's brows furrowed as he looked at the scrolls and documents that was on the table, he had come down on the forbidden library to look for more information. There had been no luck so far, there are only brief mentions of the Yunmeng Jiang, zidian and its owner Sandu Shengshou, anything that is related to this information just magically disappeared.

When he looked through the records at the start of the Wen's tyranny, they had razed a lot of sects, those who did not yield to them suffered the most. Yunmeng Jiang is one of them, one of the first sects that had been targeted. Lan Xichen found it strange that there was no other mention of this sect after that brief description, it was really strange specially when Yunmeng Jiang were one of the five great sects during that time and Gusu Lan's library had been one of the biggest libraries that upholds a lot of records, something this important should have not gone missing.

When the unknown group that infiltrated them and burned a few of their buildings some months ago the library had the less of damage, the repairs are still ongoing, but the damage had not been that bad. Lan Xichen had run away since he was being targeted, there was a man in that group that was quite strong and was able to match him. now that he had read the book from Jiang Cheng, they found out that this group was actually from the Wen Sect and the man he faced is called Wen Zhuli, a cultivator that could destroy someone's golden core.

Running away from him was the right choice specially that was injured, if he hadn't met Meng Yao--

Lan Xichen frowned as he rubbed his forehead and chuckled dryly, of course.. that attack had been just a part of their plan to drive him out and meet Meng Yao. their meeting had never been a chance encounter, the scenario had been specifically created in order for him to trust the man.

How foolish that he only came to realize this.

Lan Xichen shook his head, there are more important thing that they need to focus on firstly is finding infomation about the Yunmeng Jiang Sect.

Then there was this Sandu Shengshou, a man who appeared during the sunshot campaign. No one knew who he was but he made it obvious that he was affiliated to the Yunmeng Jiang sect. There wasn't much information about this person, only that they are quite powerful and became a key figure during the war.

Again, it made Lan Xichen think, if this Sandu Shengshou is a key figure, then how come there was barely any mention of him on these records?

Lan Xichen sighed, and he glanced at Jiang Cheng who were asleep, the man had fallen asleep while they were investigating. he can't blame him they had been staying here since this afternoon and the sun is already setting. He could not help but smile as he walked towards Jiang Cheng, removing his outer robe he placed it on his shoulders.

"Rest well" he murmured.

Jiang Cheng had been working hard since they arrived here, he could understand his actions after all this seems to be related to him and his family.

Which made Lan Xichen sigh again as he stood up, closing his eyes as he ran through the things and information that he had acquired.
