"If I see another couples costume walk in here, I swear, I'm gonna be sick." Marlene said, fake gagging as me and Regulus approached the entrance of the Disco Dungeon.
"Mar? You're guarding the door?" I asked her.
"Oooooh, hey there beautiful people!" she greeted, looking us over with a smile. "For fucks sake!" she then exclaimed, changing her expression.
"Well, that was a reaction." I commented.
"Seriously? Has everyone gone absolutely mad this year? You lot are the 20th pair of couples costumes I've seen today." she told myself and Regulus.
Okay, I didn't actually intentionally create a couple's costume with Regulus, it just happened. I didn't have any costume ideas and neither did he.
It was the best possible outcome for both of us on such short notice.
"Aren't you and Dorcas also doing a couples costume?" I questioned Marlene who was dressed as a very obvious Yoko Ono.
"Ugh, don't remind me." Marlene said, rolling her eyes.
"So, why exactly are you guarding the door again? I thought you were banned." I questioned Marlene, crossing my arms.
"I was, I am. Lily had to run inside for some costume emergency that James had and Dory's left to use the restroom." Marlene answered casually.
"And you were the only one available?" I queried, emphasizing on the word you.
Listen, The Party was a disaster. If Maria or Sirius see Marlene guarding the door...all hell will probably break lose.
"Oi, do I look drunk to you?" Marlene retorted, sounding offended.
"I don't know," I eyed her skeptically, "what's 12+8-4?" I began questioning her.
"16, next question." she replied easily.
"Who won the Quidditch world cup in '74?" I continued.
"The Syrian Quidditch team, you really think I'd forget that year's cup?" Marlene answered.
"That was a pretty great one." I added.
"You were there during the dissimulator nonsense?" Regulus spoke, surprising me.
"Oh yea, it was pretty fuckin cool." Marlene answered. "K, next question." she said.
"What's your favorite drink?" Dorcas asked, rejoining us at the door as she held out a cup for Marlene to take.
