Lorelei's POV
I woke up by the sound of the alarm. I get up, half-eye closed and took my phone to turn it off, then slumped on bed again. I breathed deeply, I still want to sleep.
I turned to my right and tried to hug my son but I felt nothing, I opened my eyes immediately. Wala si Kian sa tabi ko.
"Kian?" tawag ko saka agad na bumangon. Nagmadali akong lumabas, hindi alintana kung hindi ko na nasuot and tsinelas.
Bago ko pa tawagin ulit ang pangalan ng anak ko ay nakita ko na agad siyang nakaupo sa couch sa living room and he's with Loki. Napatigil tuloy ako.
They're not talking, they're just staring at each other. The only thing I can hear is the tapping sound at the table.
What are they doing?
"Kian" I called then came near my son.
Nagkatinginan kami ni Loki pero agad din akong umiwas.
"Good morning, Mommy" my son greeted.
"Good morning baby" I greeted back then kissed the top of his head.
"Mommy, Tito Loki taught me the tapping code. Do you know it too, Mom?" Kian shared, he looks so happy and proud. He's smiling from ears to ears.
"That's good Son" I smiled. "Uhhh, Kian, can you stay here for a while? I'll just talk to your.." I paused for a while, I almost said 'your father'
"...your Tito Loki"
"Okay, Mom"
I glanced at Loki and gave him a sign to follow me. Pumuwesto ako malapit sa glass door papunta sa balcony, medyo malayo ito sa living room at maganda rin para hindi kami marinig ni Kian.
Loki stood up in front of me.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
Nagtataka siyang tumingin sa akin pero tumango pa rin, "A little, my head is aching, probably hang over. Why am I here, by the way? I didn't remember what I did last night" he stated.
So, he didn't remember what he said last night? What he did last night? Feels like de javu.
"Uhhh, you suddenly showed up in our unit. Then collapsed in front of me because you're so wasted. And I decided to let you stay here for the night."
Hindi ko na sinabi sa kaniya kung anong eksaktong nangyari.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know why I went here. I must've drank a lot. I also wanted to leave earlier, I didn't bother to wake you up since you're sleeping but your son caught me. And he asked a lot of questions."
Mahina akong natawa nang malaman kung anong ginawa kanina ni Kian, "Pagpasensiyahan mo na, mausisa lang talaga siya."
"Yeah, and he's smart, like you" he suddenly said.
Napatigil ako at napaiwas ng tingin. We fell silent for a moment then he spoke, "By the way, I think I need to go—"
"No" putol ko sa kaniya.
