As the next day was Saturday, most students would normally have breakfast late. The Slytherin group however, were not alone in rising much earlier than they usually did at weekends. When they went down into the Entrance Hall, they saw about twenty people milling around it, some of them eating toast, all examining the Goblet of Fire. It had been placed in the centre of the hall on the stool that would normally bore the sorting hat. A thin golden line had been traced on the floor, forming a circle fern feet around it in every direction.

"Anyone put their name in yet" Enzo asked a third-year girl.

"All the Durmstrang lot" she replied "But I haven't seen anyone from Hogwarts yet"

"Wet wipes" Blaise said rolling his eyes

Someone laughed behind the group. Turning, they saw Fred and George Weasley hurrying some the staircase with Lee Jordan on their tail. All three of them looked extremely excited.

They ran over to Harry, Ron and Hermione whispering and holding some sort of vial.

Suddenly Fred pulled a slip of parchment out of his pocket and walked right up to the edge of the line, and stood there, rocking on his toes like a diver preparing for a fifty-foot drop and took a sip from the potion. With eyes of every person in the Hall hook him, he stepped over the line.

For a split second, they thought it had worked - George certainly thought so, for he let out a yell of triumph and followed his brothers actions leaping in after him- but the next moment, there was a loud sizzling sound, and both twins were hurled out of the golden circle as though they had been thrown by an in invisible shot-putter. They landed painfully, ten feet away on the cold stone floor, and to add insult to the injury, there was a loud popping noise, and both of them sprouted identical, long white beards.

The Hall rang with laughter. Even Fred and George joined in.

The Slytherins walked out of the Hall still amused by the twins actions and went in to breakfast.

The decorations of the Great Hall had been changed this morning. As it was Halloween, a cloud of live bats were fluttering around the enchanted ceiling, while hundreds of carved pumpkins leered from every corner.

As the group settled down into their usual eats they started conversation of those Hogwarts students of seventeen or over who might be entering.

"I heard a rumour that Warrington got up early and put his name in" Blaise told them

"Really?" Iris asked sounding really unimpressed "he can just about last out on the Quidditch pitch he is not getting far in the tournament"

"Yeah but hopefully we get a Slytherin champion" Blaise replied

"I doubt it" said Enzo as he buttered his toast

"Oh come on Berkshire have some positivity about ya" Blaise said to him in a much happier tone.

Enzo just ignored the over enthusiastic boy

They all started eating their breakfast in a comfortable silence until Amy noticed something that sparked Iris' attention

Her head suddenly lifted up and she was looking over at the doors holding back a smile
"I uh have to go do something quickly...I'll be back" she said eagerly and left without another word

They all looked to each other in confusion until they saw the answer to her happiness

Waiting for her at the door was none other than Cedric Diggory holding more books than Iris probably owns

Blaise smirked and spoke up "And they're not a thing huh"

"They're just studying" replies Enzo flatly "it's a normal thing to do at school"
