George watched Clay drive away from the school before finding his vehicle and hopping inside. Starting the engine George made his way back home, his jaw aching with the large smile that stretched across his face. He knew it wasn't a date- nor anything close to that, but everything tonight felt so right and George couldn't help but wanted to do it all over again.

He lives fairly close to the school, arriving back home in just under 10 minutes he parks, gathering his bag and keys before exiting his car and unlocking his front door. Inside he is greeted by a small grey kitten excited to see its owner finally home.

"Hi, cat... are you hungry?" George coos while picking her up using his free hand to pour food into a bowl "there you go baby" he mumbles sweetly before kicking off his shoes tossing them by the front door.

Taking a seat at the kitchen island George opened his phone deciding to take a risk with Clay by sending the blond his phone number George had convinced himself it was a formality easier than using email but deep down a knot dwindled within his heart longing for the others contact.

He managed to push those thoughts aside and a message from another appeared at the top of his screen a person George had forgotten about- Noah. a small ball of guilt rose as George read the message himself not being a fan of cancelling plans too kind to hurt others.

'Hey cutie I know you couldn't make it to our date, but if you're free now could we meet up?'

George's eyes cast towards the clock on his oven, the time now 8:45 it wasn't late and so George reluctantly agreed 'Sure' he responded 'What did you have in mind?'

Three dots appear right away and Noah's response follows shortly after 'There's this 24-hour cafe near me I could come pick you up' he suggests

George thought for a minute contemplating if this was a good idea or not he did just meet the guy not even a day ago, but due to his need to please everyone George reluctantly decided to agree 'Yeah sure I'll send you my address'

'Sounds good cutie'

He left Noah on read and climbed up the stairs to go to his bedroom seeing the mess that was left this morning ignoring the trash and clothes that scatter around the room George hurries to his closet stripping himself from his work clothes and changing into something a bit more date-worthy, a simple pair of black jeans with a blue crew neck hoodie with a collared shirt underneath "That's good enough" he says to himself while looking in the bathroom mirror fixing his brown messy hair.

Just in time, a knock is heard downstairs. George takes a deep breath before jogging downstairs to slowly open the door "Hello" He greets shyly

"Hey, George right?" The person in front of him asks. He was about 6'0 and was wearing black jeans and a red sweater, his glasses sitting perfectly on his tan freckled face and a huge smile.

"Yeah, Noah right?" George replies in awe at the boy in front of him he truly was a very attractive man.

"The one and only" Noah responds with a devilish smirk.

They drove to the small cafe about 30 minutes away from Georges, parking the car in front of a cute building with an 'OPEN' sign blinking through the window. Stepping inside Goegre noticed two other people inside, one wearing a reindeer hoodie and the other with green hair; they both seemed to be in deep conversation with each other.

Noah led George to an empty booth and once the waiter appeared he ordered them both a classic glazed donut and a cup of tea. George tried his best to indulge in conversation asking more questions about the man across from him, but he soon came to realise that Noah enjoyed talking over top of him and always arguing with George over every single thing no matter how wrong he is.

As the time passed George had become more and more uncomfortable Noah's flirting had started to be more sexual and he's been trying to convince George to come back to his place for the night.

"Come on cutie it will be fun," Noah says seductively, taking George's hand in his own. The cold touch caused George to flinch back. It was nothing like Clay's own warm hands, ones that the brunette was truly craving at this moment.

"I think I'm good for tonight, could you drive me home? I have work tomorrow" George asks in a whisper.

"You know I think you should come back with me" Noah pushed once again, but George just shook his head no.

The action caused Noah to become angered, face red with rage and before George could even react a hand was cut through the air slapping him across the face and leaving a swollen red hand mark.

"Fine then! I didn't even want to have sex with you- you're too ugly for that" Noah raises his voice dramatically storming out of the cafe.

George drowned in anger, choking on fear the emotions clashing within his mind. He tried his best to push the tears away, but lost the battle, his eyes pooling over with the salty substance. He shakily takes his phone dialling the only person he could think about at this moment.

...

"Yes I'll be there send me the location"

The call ended and with shaking fingers George sent him his location. sliding his phone back into his pocket.
He thought about Clay and how the blond had never treated him this way. He always managed to make George laugh and smile, always being such a bright outlet for the brunette over a year of knowing him even if it was small interactions at the school.

His thoughts are stopped once a black car pulls up in front of him and a familiar voice calls out "Need a ride?" they joke bringing a smile to George's tear-stained face. he nodded getting in the passenger side while mumbling a quick 'Thank you

The car ride was silent Geoge refused to look at the man beside him while Clay would every so often glance at the brunette with worried eyes he dearly wanted to ask what had happened but bit his tongue hoping for George to open up himself.

Soon enough at George's house, the car appeared coming to a slow stop for the first time this entire ride. George turned to face Clay exposing his red eyes and flushed cheeks telling tale signs of tears. Clays' heartbreaks that the sight and he couldn't help but lift his hand to wipe away the remaining tears.

"Thank you again, Clay" George mutters sniffling

"Of course George... Do you want to talk about what happened?" Clay sheepishly asks

"Just a bad date' George shrugs eyes dropping down to his lap "love seemed to have failed me again" He mumbles to himself, but Clay manages to pick up the sad words, a frown dragging the corner of his lips down.

"Would you at least want a hug?"

"Yeah, that would be nice," George whispers.

In an instant, Clay undoes his seatbelt and rushes over to George, opening the door and helping him to jump out of the car. Clay wraps George in a tight embrace. They stay like that for a few more minutes George eventually pulling away face covered in a light pink blush "Goodnight Clay, Thank you again"

"Anytime George Goodnight."

He walks away and into the house leaving Clay a complete gushing mess as he stands in the dark star-filled sky. "God that man truly owns my heart."
