NATIGILAN SI Saskia sa pag-aayos ng pinagkainan nila ni Venice nang marinig ang doorbell ng suite. Tapos ay napatingin siya sa sala nang makita sa gilid ng mata niya ang mabilis na pagtalon ni Venice sa sandalan ng sofa at nagtago sa likod niyon.

Binitawan niya ang pinggan na hawak at tumakbo para lapitan ito dahil sa pag-aalala.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Saskia asked, a little bit scared because of what just Venice did.

Lumuhod siya sa sahig at sinapo ang mukha nito at halos maiyak siya ng makita ang takot sa mata nitong naiiyak.

"W-who is t-there? Are you expecting somebody? Did you c-call someone—"

"Hey, hey, sshh..." Saskia calmed her down. "It's just probably the cleaner—"

Natigilan siya ng sunod-sunod na doorbell ang narinig nila kasabay ng malakas na katok ng pintuan.

"V-Venice—"

Naputol ang sasabihin niya ng mahigpit na yumakap sa kanya si Venice.

"Sino nasa labas? Kilala mo?" Bulong nito sa nanginginig na boses habang pigil ang pag-iyak. "Ate Saskia, please... I'm afraid."

"Sshh..." Alo niya dito.

Niyakap niya ito saka pilit na tinayo at pinigilan ang emosyon at luha dahil sa awa dito. What happened to Venice must be awfully traumatic for her to be this way.

"Come, you hide in the bedroom. Lock the door, okay?"

"How about you?" Tanong nito na bakas ang pag-aalala sa boses.

Saskia smiled. "I'll be fine. Now, go."

Atubili itong sumunod at nang makapasok ito ng silid ay kinuha niya muna ang pepper spray na laging nasa bag niya bago nilapitan ang pintuan at sumilip sa peephole. Napalunok siya ng makita ang ilang nakaitim na suit na mga lalaki sa tapat ng pintuan.

They don't look like cleaners...

Afraid it might be men looking for Venice, Saskia stepped back. But she almost squealed when loud knocks on the door shattered the silence.

"Ma'am Saskia?! Are you there?!"

Natigilan siya sa paghakbang ng narinig ang sigaw ng isang lalaki sa labas.

"Ma'am, open the door. I'm Rob B. Ree, your covert personal bodyguard."

"What?.." Saskia whispered, frowning, then went back to the door opening it but not removing the latch from the inside.

"What did you just say?" she asked, looking at the six men in black.

Ngumiti ito. "I'm your bodyguard ma'am— Rob."

"And they?" Saskia arched her brow, looking at the other men in black.

"Unx Miur Vallejos sends three of them. They are also bodyguards but they are here to make sure miss Venice is safe," anito. "While that's Kevin, your covert bodyguard from midnight 'til dawn. That's Alex your bodyguard from four pm to midnight. I cover the time from eight am to four pm."

Umawang ang labi ni Saskia sa narinig.

"What.. the fuck?.. How did you know Venice is here?" Tanong niya.

"We are your covert bodyguard, that should answer the inquiry, ma'am. We look after you twenty-four seven."

Nahilot niya ang ulo. "That's... creepy."

"Boss Lorch just wanted to make sure your safety here, ma'am."

Lorch?

Umiling siya saka bumuntong-hininga. Sino pa ba ang may kakayahang bigyan siya ng bodyguard kundi ang binata.
