Kou can't ask Mitsuba to prom

Mitsuba and Kou were sitting in Kou's room, watching videos together. The blonde was ever so slightly behind Mitsuba, playing with his hair. The pink haired boy didn't seem to mind.

Mitsuba is so pretty...

Kou snapped away from his thoughts and blushed, trying to focus on the YouTube video they were watching.

"Oh look, this part is hilarious!" Mitsuba exclaimed.

Kou watched and they both laughed, Mitsuba laughing for longer. Kou studied Mitsuba's features. His pink hair, smooth skin, perfectly placed birthmark, and his glowing pink eyes.

"Wait a minute, isn't prom in 2 weeks?" Mitsuba turned his head to face Kou.

"Hm? Oh, I see, you're thinking of asking that radish girl, huh?" Mitsuba smiled, trying to tease Kou.

Kou heated up. There was no way he just said that out loud.

"Erm- No. It was just- just something I randomly remembered, y'know? I dunno why I said it out loud!" He gave out an awkward laugh.

Mitsuba shrugged.

"Whatever. She'll probably go with that star boy."

"Yeah, probably."

"Are you upset?"

"Not really. I'd be happy for her if she did."

"Oh. I thought you liked her?"

"Pffft, that was last year. I don't anymore." Kou failed to mention the fact he's actually had a crush on Mitsuba the entire time.

He tried liking Yashiro in order to avoid his true feelings, but those feelings never went away.

"Okay then. Plan on going with anyone?" Kou tensed up.

Was Mitsuba really about to ask him to go to prom?

"Nnnope." He replied in a 'cool' way.

"Me neither." Mitsuba stated.

I guess he wasn't.

The two of them continued watching videos.

~Monday, school lunch~

Kou scanned the cafeteria, looking for Nene. He saw her, and once he tried walking over a certain someone stopped him.

"Minamoto-kun! Going somewhere?" Kou turned around.

"Oh, no! Just the bathroom. I'll meet up with you, Yokoo, and Satou in a bit!" The blonde reassured.

"Mmmm okay!" Mitsuba walked away, and so did Kou.

What Kou didn't know was that Mitsuba turned back, watching him approach Nene.
