"Come on Mads! Please, you never want to go to any of our parties." Lexi says
"Because I don't know ANYONE who goes and you and Hallie always end up ditching me for guys." I say
"Okay, I understand and we're sorry, but why don't you try to actually have some fun? Have a drink? Meet some of these 'people you don't know' rather than hiding in the kitchen or sitting on the couch the whole time sipping on soda " She says
"Please... it is literally to celebrate you... it's your birthday!! There will be some people you know and some you don't." She says
"Fine, I'll go." I say rolling my eyes playfully
"Can I pick your outfit!?" She asks too excited
I raise my eyebrows at her, because I know she will pick something I wouldn't normally wear, which I guess is kind of the "fun" of parties.. it's the one night to look hot in front of important people in your life.
"Sure" I say sweetly, "Do you- want to do my uh hair and makeup too?" I ask shyly
"Of course! You never let me!!" She squeals
She picks out these frayed light blue jean shorts, a purple tank top, which I tucked into my shorts and layered that with a black zip up jacket finishing the look with black boots that gave me like 3 inches.

She did a light purple eyeshadow with minimal eyeliner and mascara, doing a simple but cute look, of course adding highlight in all the right places.
I decided to do a loose ponytail because my hair still had some cute loose curls, so it worked out.
We get to the party and it's already intimidating.
There's lots of people drinking and dancing.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Someone yelled as they passed me.
I just looked at Lexi like 'wtf?'
"I don't even know who that is..." I say laughing
The girls just shrug and we go in to get a drink.
All the drinks are spread across the kitchen counters, plenty of booze, but also soda and juice for those who don't drink.
I walk towards the soda when a young man stops me.
He holds his arm in front of me, "woah woah woah, I heard you are the birthday girl... right?" He says
"Yes?" I respond
"Let me make you drink! On me!" He laughs
I accept and follow him towards the liquor.
I watch every move he makes because, you never know what could end up in your cup.
He pours vodka, sprite, squeezes a lemon and lime slice, pours some other things I don't really know, but I have this gut feeling of trust towards him, so it doesn't worry me.
He closes the bottles and hands me the cup, "try this, if you don't like it I will toss it out and I know something else you will definitely like." he says
I grab the cup, smelling it before I drink it and that was my first mistake, it smells tooo strong!
I practically gag, pulling it away.

"Trust me, just try it. It tastes better than it smells, promise." He says
I take a deep breath and take a big chug. I savor it in my mouth and give it a minute.
"It's good! Not too strong, but I'm sure this won't be my only drink tonight.." I say
"Good! I'm glad you like it! And I would hope not, if the birthday girl isn't drunk and having fun at her own party then what's the point." He says
"How did you know I was the birthday girl?" I ask
"Lexi sent a photo of you with the invite, so everyone knew who to say 'Happy Birthday' to." He says
I just face palm.
"That's just- wonderful. Well thank you..."
"Joseph!" He reaches out his hand to me
I shake it, smiling.
"Madeline, but I'm sure you already know that."
"I do know that" he says smirking, shaking my hand
"So, what's the move tonight? Drinking? Dancing? A Quick One?" He says wiggling his eyebrows

I gasp at the thought, but when I actually think about it, I haven't gotten any in so long and it IS MY birthday... "dancing!" I say
I don't want to be drunk and if I do actually want to get some, dancing is the perfect place to start. I don't really dance, but we'll see what happens.
it was kind of awkward, because he wasn't wanting to dance with me. He said "I'm not a dancer, sorry.. but please! Go enjoy yourself!"
So now I was dancing with some strangers and some familiar faces, I was getting exhausted.
I looked around the room to see him, and I find him sipping from a red solo cup with a smirk on his face.
My cheeks immediately turn pink.
I slowly exit the dance floor, making my way back to him.
"What's on your mind?" I ask
"That would ruin the surprise for later.." he says
"Later? Is that your way of assuming I'm sleeping with you later?" I ask
"I know we will be. I know you want me just from watching the way you danced... you're craving friction between your legs and I can give it to you."
My heart is beating so fast you would think you could actually hear it over the music.
