2022, Apr 25 - Seokjin (Yoongi Focused Loop)

[Places: Seokjin's room, workroom, motel]

Come on. Pick up.

I don't know how many times I've called. I go to the workroom to see torn pieces of sheet music and empty bottles but not the person who should be there, Yoongi.

Did I make a mistake? Was I not careful enough about how I approached him? Seriously, what's the problem?

"Just leave. I have nothing to say to you."

"It can't be. No way." An ominous thought crosses my mind but I force it out to focus on recalling something from my memory.

Where did Yoongi go last time? I ran into someone when I was chasing after him. Even though I'm not sure. I have no choice but to go.

I race to the location as fast as my feet will take me. "What floor was it? Remember it... hurry!" My heart feels it'll burst out of my chest; I'm covered in cold sweat.

It wasn't the top floor. Was it the 2nd? No, it was a bit higher up than that. I run up to the 3rd floor, but find myself at loss as I stare down the hallway of identical doors. How do I found Yoongi's room?

(A/N: Loop #1: Call out for Yoongi.)

"Min Yoongi!" I rap on the doors, yelling Yoongi's name. I don't expect him to open the door and step out. Instead, I need to find the door that doesn't open. "Yoongi-ya!" I shake the door, almost breaking it when-

"What do you want?!"

It's not Yoongi's voice that responds. This isn't his room. I confirm the occupants in the other rooms that way, finally getting to the last one.

(A/N: Loop #2: Think of something else.)

Should I go down to the lobby and ask the front desk? Should I yell his name? No, it'll take too long if I check each room. I need to think something else.

I stop in the middle of the hallway, thinking, when I notice a fire extinguisher. I don't think twice. I pull the fire alarm.

"What the---?"

"There's a fire?"

People rush out of their rooms.

"Please evacuate to the ground floor!" I shouted.

I scan the faces of people passing by. I don't see Yoongi. My eyes travel to the room that hasn't opened, the one at the end of the hallway. The location is familiar.

That's it. That's where Yoongi was in the previous loop!

"Yoongi-ya!" I slam down on the door handle with the fire extinguisher I found in the corner. Please, please don't tell me I'm too late.

"Min Yoongi!" The room is empty. "Please..."

Is he somewhere else this time? What have I done wrong? Was giving him the sheet music the problem? Or is it because I intervened? I know that something has gone wrong, but I don't know the reason why. I should have looked more carefully. Like an idiot, I-I knew that the location and method of Yoongi's attempt could change and yet I'm awash in regret, when---.

Someone yelled. Flames erupt from the motel across the streets. "No, please..."

How can I stop this tragedy? Am I not enough to stop it?

I hear the glass shatter.
