I woke up to the sound of someone banging my door heavily. I knew Som must be excited about sharing something with me that was super exciting for her, while I feel all her dates are the same.

"Damn you Som!" I screamed from under my blanket trying hard to hide my ears under the pillow, to not hear the thudding sound continuously. "LET ME SLEEP!"

She kept banging the door until I got up tired and irritated of her. I opened the door only to see her wearing an apron which meant I am not going to have a good morning today. Keeping the door open, I went back to my bed and covered myself completely under blanket again hoping it would protect me.

"Wake up lazy bones. Breakfast is ready and I am going to make you taste it first. Have you ever imagined how lucky you are? Yay! Good morning Roomie." She came to sit beside me happily feeling proud of her new experiment.

"I am on a liquid intake diet today." I said coldly.

"If you don't wake up on the count of three, I am going to do what I had done the last time. Remember?" She warned me.

I recalled the day when she had last prepared cheese toast for me and scared of having to try her dish, I decided to pretend to be too sleepy. Som had poured a pan full of rotten egg yolk on me. The memory was so disgusting that I got up in fraction of a second. "Don't you dare! I am up."

I saw her giggling the usual way on seeing me helpless. "What's on menu today?"

"Curry pasta." She said

"What is that? You mixed pasta in yesterday night's left over?" How can she do that?

"Wow Non, you are genius! Are you ready? Or would you like to freshen up before the delicious meal?" she asked.

"Actually, I'll get ready first. I need to talk to my manager for leaving tomorrow. I'll be coming back Wednesday. I want to meet him before he assigns me something for the weekend." I replied.

"Where are you going? Are you not supposed to inform me?" she questioned with confusion.

"I'm sorry but I planned everything yesterday and you were not home. How was your date by the way?" I asked not able to remember whether she had gone for a date or extra shift in office. But assuming she hardly sits late for work, it must be a date.

"Date? I was out for team dinner. I texted you." She said while picking up my phone from the table and then turned to me with a disappointed expression on her face. "And as usual you did not read it."

"Sorry Som, you see there is so much going on. I..."

"Wake up! Go get ready and meet me for breakfast. We'll talk then." She said and left my room quickly.

I got ready and pushed a chair in front of the cupboard to get my suitcase down. I threw all my old clothes out of my bag and packed it with a few selected tees and shirts, including the one Ohm once bought for me as his first salary gift. I never got a chance to wear it in front of him but it would be perfect to wear it on the day when I'll try to convince him to forgive me. Maybe the shirt will give me some additional support. After packing, I locked my room door and headed to the dining area where Som was waiting for me with her new experiment.

From the time, I shifted to Bangkok, it was Som who made me feel at home at every step. It was first time for me that I was out of my hometown, away from my comfort zone. Initially I had no friends to talk to. My only good part of the week was when I used to call my mom and sometimes the late-night chats with Ohm. Som was always cheerful. She helped me make friends and get settled. It was impossible to ignore her. Somewhere despite of all her stupidity, I like being around her.
