I Wish... (Inspired From A True Story)

The Dark Past

I was wondering what he was laughing at. And then I saw horses tied to the hook near a tree.

"No way... I am not going to do any such stupid thing..." I got up and started walking fast to the other direction.

"Hey, no cheating! I answered all your questions. In return, I am just asking you to for just this." He held my hand and stopped me.

"But..."

"No buts... Let's go." He pulled me started walking towards the horses. He asked the owner if he would allow us to ride. The owner handed him a horse and he turned to me with smile.

"C'mon!" he extended his hand. I resisted but he gave me an assuring look.

"If anything happens to me... you will regret!" I warned him and he chuckled.

"Accepted, now get on it." He pulled me up and helped me climb the horse. My heartbeat increased with fear. This was one thing I had wanted to do. But I always feared animals. This was like a wish which I was skeptical about. Although the horse was more stable than I had imagined. I was starting to feel comfortable when suddenly the horse started jumping trying to get me off it's back.

"OHMI! HELP!" I screamed and I saw Ohm was trying to get hold of it. He then called out for the owner of the horse and from a distance I saw that guy come running. I was almost about to fall down when the owner came near and held me up straight on the horse back.

"Are you ok Mister?" he asked concerned while patting the horse to calm it down. Ohm came to the other side and held my hand.

"Chaplin, you alright?" he asked concerned.

"I am ok, just get me off this."

"Sure, please hold my hand..." the owner said but Ohm interrupted.

"No! Wait! You come along with us till the other side of the beach. And let him ride it." He insisted and the owner nodded.

"Ohm-just-let-me-get-off-this." I warned him gritting my teeth emphasizing on each word.

He smirked but ignored. I was too scared to jump off that tall horse. So I had no choice left but to try and stay calm. The horse started walking and the owner walked with me. Ohm kept walking ahead of us facing backside continuously taking a video of my expressions. I had already made a mental note about kicking him bad as soon as I would get down. Soon, as the horse started walking on the corner of the beach, partly over the waves, I started enjoying the wind and scenery around. More than that, I was enjoying my ride. For once, I forgot all about Ohm and the owner being around me. It was like there was me and the horse alone. I looked at it closely. It was dark brown with black hair. It was taller than the horses I had usually seen. The horse also did not seem to be uncomfortable with me. I slowly rubbed its back and ran fingers in its hair. It gently nodded on my touch as if it was acknowledging me. In that moment, I realized I was fulfilling one more wish from my wish list. Maybe I would have never thought of doing it on my own. I turned to look at Ohm who was lost in his thoughts. He had a brief smile on his face. He was looking at the waves while walking slowly behind the owner. I love him, I thought. He is always able to make me feel special. Knowingly or unknowingly, he makes me happy. He turned to look at me and we exchanged a smile.

The owner came running to us and stopped the horse. "Ride is over." He said. Ohm came to the other side and extended his hand to help me get down. I held his hand and he pulled me up in his arms. He was grinning looking at me. If only I could tell him how happy I was feeling after the ride. He has no idea about the weird wishes I have but it's strange how he is the center of all the ones getting fulfilled. Maybe it's destiny. Maybe, I never realized that he was my personal angel. I smiled back at him and tried to loosen his arm but he held me tightly.
