"O, get over here buddy." Mork said waving from a distance while I was lost in looking at 1 new message pop up on my cell phone screen from Nanon Korapat. I wanted to read it but did not want to regret my decision again. In the pilot's base, we were not supposed to waste time, so I decided to leave it unopened and go ahead with my next flight. Mork is the new co-pilot who usually worked with me most of the time.

"All set?" I asked shaking his hand.

"Mostly. You may need to crosscheck though." He said handing me the details of the flight.

"Looks good. Let's go." I got into the cockpit ready for my flight.

"O, can I borrow your phone for a minute. Need to make an urgent call. I don't see network here in mine." Mork asked.

"Sure man." I handed him the phone. "But be quick while I get the details from the tower before taking off." He nodded and dialed a number.

He looked at my phone for a bit before dialing a number. "Hey it's me. I will be late. The schedule is for 3 days. You go ahead with the party you had planned... Yes, see you soon... Love you too... Bye!" he handed me phone back with a huge grin on his face.

"Girlfriend?" I asked while switching off my phone.

"Yeah, hey why did you switch off? There was a message for you..." he said while I cut him in between.

"I'll check it later; can we get started?" Get the damn guy out of your mind Ohm! I internally screamed at myself.

"Yes. Let's make the announcement." He said while taking his seat and giving a go ahead signal to Andrew, the cabin crew head.

I started the engine and turned the flight to get it to the runway. As I took the mic in hand, Mork showed me the standard speech he wrote. I smiled at him with disbelief.

"I have been flying these passenger planes for 2 years now." He gave me a sly smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Welcome on board on flight CP-479. This is Captain Ohm Pawat speaking and I have some information about our flight. Our flight time today will be 1 hour 15 minutes and our estimated time of arrival in Zagreb is 12:35 PM CEST. The weather in our route is good. The temperature at our destination is now 21 degrees Celsius, with clear sky. We wish you a pleasant flight and we hope to see you again soon. On behalf of all our crew, thank you for choosing Catai Gesture as your airline today." I kept back the mic on mute.

"Wow you remember all this?" Mork exclaimed.

"I do my homework." I said winking back at him.

It's been more than 10 months since I talked to him. He must have moved on now. But why does he keep reminding me that I am hurting him? He never realizes how much he hurts me. But I am not going to sulk here. Maybe having a scotch or two tonight would help me get that message off my mind.

"It seems you forgot half of your homework O." Mork interrupted my thoughts.

I looked at him confused, when he showed that we are done with takeoff already but I haven't made an announcement yet. That's it, I am going to be who I was always. I can't be so lost in my life anymore. A guy... That boy cannot make me a looser for life.

"Folks, we've just hit our cruising altitude of 11,000 feet. I've turned off the seat-belt light, which means you are now free to move about the cabin. However, for your own safety, please fasten it when you are seated, in case we encounter any unexpected turbulence or I jerk the stick back and forth."

I heard people laughing. Mork was glaring at me wide eyed. I thought of teasing him more.

"Though I've turned off the seat-belt light, please note the "no smoking" light will remain on throughout the flight, in compliance with FAA regulations. You may not smoke in the lavatories and federal law prohibits tampering with the smoke detector. Feel free to pack a chew or eat loudly, though. Those aren't federal crimes. Not yet!"
