Kevin's head throbbed with pain as he awoke. His vision was blurry, but he could see Humungosaur fighting the swarm of chips. His body was ravaged by cuts from the chips which had formed themselves into blades, the hero's screams of pain deafening onlookers. Kevin struggled to raise himself from the ground.

"Gotta help hi-" Kevin grunted as his arms gave out and his chest collided with the ground, knocking the wind out of him.

"C'mon Levin, you're better than this!" Kevin said to himself as he continued struggling, the pained cries of his friend motivating him.

He stood on shaky legs and put all his weight on the car to support himself. He placed his hand over the car hood and took a deep breath. He could feel a stinging sensation radiate from his hand throughout the rest of his body he regained strength and it started to feel good, really good. He smiled and moved so fast that he was a blur. In an instant, he stood over Ben. He thrust his hands out and a massive stream of electricity enveloped the alien chips, their circuits fried instantly and their bodies exploded in a shower of sparks.

Kevin fell to his knees and coughed roughly before speaking.

"Are you ok?" He asked Ben who had reverted to his human form.

"I'm ok," Ben managed to get out as he sat up, "What did you just do?"

"I absorbed energy from my car battery," Kevin said after a short coughing fit, "I don't like doing it, but we were a bit desperate."

"Sorry I couldn't beat them," Ben said as he threw Kevin's arm over his shoulder.

"It's ok Ben," Kevin said as he stood with his friend's help, "No one person can do everything on their own, not even Rin or Albedo."

"Speaking of which, I really wish we had their help right now," Ben said as he helped Kevin towards his car.

"I do too," Kevin said as he sat in his car's passenger seat, "But they're doing something important.

Hours later, the group was sitting in the Plumber's base, all on computers and looking through the data they had on the chips. They searched for hours until one by one, their heads slowly drifted to their glass desks as they felt the sweet lure of sleep calling them, the only one managing to stay awake was Kevin.

"Stay awake!" Kevin chastised himself.

He delivered a sharp slap to his own face and jolted in his chair. Kevin shook his head rapidly and went back to working on his computer.

"There's got to be some link," Kevin said to himself as he typed furiously, trying to piece together the gathered intel, "Maybe whatever hivemind controls these chips is trying to get a few agents in high places, that way a potential takeover would go smooth and they could even use their new political power to force people to get infected en masse."

Kevin continued spouting hypotheses to himself as he typed away on his mechanical keyboard, the haptic feedback soothed his tired mind and made it easier to concentrate on his work. He soon put on headphones and blared music to himself in an attempt to stay awake even longer. He grabbed his phone and typed in the name of a band he had recently heard of for the first time, There For Tomorrow. He set his music app to random and clicked a random song in their discography.

Kevin bounced his leg with the song's rhythm and his typing speed increased. His eyes darted across his monitor as his typing went faster and faster, almost as if the song fueled his body. He smiled as he continued working, the feeling he got from listening to the music felt even better than when he used to absorb energy.
