Waking up in a bad mood was never the best way to start a day. Especially, when this bad mood was related to sadness. And it didn't help that this sadness came from jealousy. And if that jealousy was directed at the one person you had made plans with the same day, well then you just have it bad.

Feeling like the Universe just loved seeing you suffer, you got ready for the day. As you brushed your hair while looking into the mirror, you just couldn't pull your eyes away from your reflection. Why couldn't you look more like Cassandra? She was beautiful. Strong and beautiful. And you were neither.

At least you felt that way. Still, you had to go and meet her. You couldn't just cancel your plans for no reason. The two of you had wanted to look for some weapons for battle. You had trained close-range and wanted to get a dagger, while Cassandra just wanted to try out something more unusual than what she had.

The town square was busy. Cassandra had already been waiting when you arrived.

"Oh, you didn't have to wait for long, did you?"

"No, you're good. So I have this go-to place and I think that we should definitely check them out, I was told they had new items in stock."

"That's nice, let's go there then!"

While you walked, you couldn't help but glance in Cass' direction every now and then. Even when peacefully walking, she was breathtaking. And while you knew it wasn't fair to her, you couldn't help but feel light annoyance towards her.

'Does her hair have to frame her face so well all the time?' and 'Why does the lighting hit her in all the best angles?' were some of the thoughts that occupied your head.

You didn't even notice that you had started glaring at her until you walked straight into a pole. Rubbing your forehead that throbbed in pain, you felt even more disgruntled.

Why were you so clumsy? Cassandra was never clumsy. She moved elegantly, never embarrassing herself. It wasn't fair.

"Hey kid, are you alright? You uh, bumped into that lamppost pretty badly, huh?"

"I guess I did. I'm good though."

You came to your senses. How could you ever hate her? She had always been nice to you. She treated you as an equal, and she was basically your other big sister. Yet you couldn't shake the envy that was bubbling up inside of you. It made you feel guilty. She deserved better than you. You were an awful person.

Why did you have to feel this way? It made you feel terrible as the negative feeling swallowed you whole. You almost didn't notice that you had arrived at the shop Cassandra had talked to you about. You marveled at the range of weapons this store had to offer.

You approached the daggers right away, wasting no time to inspect each and every single one of them. One caught your eye, and you grabbed it carefully, making sure not to cut yourself. This dagger had a white, pearlescent handle. It had intricate designs carved into it. Knowing a tiny bit of astrology, you were able to make out some constellations. One of them that stood out the most to you, was Corona Borealis. On the blade itself, the pattern was way simpler. A singular star, surrounded by other, smaller stars.

"Found something you like?", Cassandra asked, leaning next to you.

"Oh, yes."

"So did I, why don't we go and pay now? We can go to Attila's bakery right after, my treat."

"Sure, that'd be great."

Sitting outside of the bakery, you observed as people around you went about their daily life while you were munching on a croissant. A very nice croissant, filled with chocolate and fresh out of the oven.
